About 6 months ago I bought a bouquet of flowers to surprise my girlfriend for $50 (plus delivery/taxes/tip, totaling $60). I was pleased with the bouquet, card and delivery, and so I decided to use Joy's Flower again recently. This time the bouquet cost about $60 in total again (the bouquet itself was $40) and, from the photos, you can probably tell which of the two bouquets looks cheaper. For $40 of flowers in Brooklyn Heights (at an "expensive shop") I get a bouquet that includes much nicer flowers. This bouquet to be honest looks like it came from Trader Joe's. In total, they are responsive and communicative here (which I appreciate), but I probably won't return given the high price for disappointing flowers.

I got my V day flowers here this year! They were excellent. Unlike the other reviewers complaining about the price I ordered my flowers in advance and paid like 50 bucks for my bouquet (which my girlfriend loved). If you went in the day-of without ordering ahead you had to pay more. And the people leaving one star reviews about that are losers who wait until the last minute to do things and fail. My flowers were lovely. The staff was nice. The prices reasonable. Great store.

i went in last minute to pick up some flowers for my friends birthday and was initially pretty confused when i walked in and there were no pre constructed bouquets, but assembling my own was unexpectedly so much better. the flowers were gorgeous, the friend loved them, and the employee was so sweet!! the price felt reasonable for flowers in nyc.

I was having one of those New York days where everything goes wrong. My heel broke, I got splashed by a puddle of sewage, I forgot to brush my teeth this morning, and I got kicked by a subway performer. It wasn’t till I traipsed past Joy Flower Pot that my day turned around. I heard faint whistling coming from a little shop adorned in flowers and green of all shades. The tune was Old Man River, and it struck me because my grandfather used to whistle that tune to me as a child. The lovely employee who brought back this memory was, Brent, a charming young, talented, florist. We chatted for nearly 20 minutes, but I could have talked with him for hours. He showed me his lovely work, and recommended an arrangement that might help with attracting positive energy. Brent was there to remind me that even on the worst days, there’s always a silver lining. Thank you Joy Flower pot, I will...

Joy's Flower Pot deserves all the praise it gets here and elsewhere. Such a great shop, with a kind, knowledgeable owner, and every plant I have bought from Joy has flourished (usually well beyond my expectations). For example, I bought a calathea in a 4" pot that had maybe six leaves on it, and now it has more than 50 robust leaves less than a year later. I also bought some sort of huernia cactus in an 8" pot, and with proper care over the growing season, many of its "snakes" grew from average of 4" height to crawling up the wall more than 12" in height. This happened over only six months! You can be confident that you're not only buying a plant that looks great, but will thrive with the excellent care instructions...
