You know what makes this store a pleasure shop in? Hilde.
Unfortunately, we have to endure the saltiest female employee in the meat section, huffing while she organizes the meat and complains about the mess left by the customers. It sours the shopping experience.
But, if you have a moment of interaction with Hilde, the meat section is forgotten. A hello, a smile, she'll even man the cash register when the lines get long.
I'm not a relative, nor friend, just a very long time customer who has manager Hilde at her local Stop & Shop. Thank you.
On another note, please stop changing the layout of the aisles. I think this is the 3rd time in 2 years? This last change, is by far the worst.
Expanding variety in certain areas was done at the expense and downsizing of more common staples. Dry pasta, canned soups, refrigerated coffee creamer come to mind. I would guess their shelf space was cut by 50%.
The lighting in the produce section is a great improvement and all the enclosed refrigerated areas are energy saving changes.
After 8 shopping trips, I still haven't come across the breadcrumbs on my own. Are they in the pet food aisle? That's one place I haven't looked.
I could memorize previous store layout changes, in a few trips. This most recent one is super frustrating. I tap my heels and say, "there's no...
Read moreA few days ago, I came to Stop & Shop to buy some groceries of course. I asked for help at checkout and turns out the lady was the manager, her name was Hilda. this was surprising to me because of how she acted. I wouldn’t expect her to be a manager out of all the jobs. her attitude serves as a janitor at best. She talks to customers such as me with complete disrespect, and as I was shopping around the following days, I saw her being disrespectful to her employee and eavesdrop on how she talks to them and it’s disgusting. It’s clear to me that she abuses her power and It should definitely be reported. Hopefully somebody reads this and does something, because I’m sure I’m not the first person to...

They really need to paint the road again with arrows to pack it clear of which way traffic is required to go. Also, they should be one ways instead of the current 2 way which I think it the reason for the congestion it tends to get on the weekends.
I'm very excited for Five Below to open up as I think it would be a great spot for it.
They've also just opened a brand new laundromat which I also think is a great addition. Especially for those that like to knock our responsibilities at 1 spot (laundry, food shopping, bank run)
This spot is slowly improving with the...
