Calling it a park is something of a liberty as it is just a little plaza in front of the 7 World Trade Center (7WTC) office tower with a fountain-cum-sculpture in the middle. It's a nice place to pause and tie your shoelaces and take a breather. Not particularly picturesque as it sits within the middle of a concrete jungle of office towers.
It stands on part of the footprint of the old 7WTC which was destroyed on 9/11. It is named after the property developer Larry Silverstein who owns most of the WTC buildings except 1WTC.

Read moreI think the world needs to re-examine their definition of "park." This was a nice small area with benches and some greenery. But it was a nice place to stop and catch our bearings for a bit, as my son and I were on our way to visit my favourite place in Manhattan. He loved it and was so curious about the work of art in the centre. We googled a little and found information on the work of art after he asked all his questions, and we discussed what we thought of it. He loved the learning aspect of it. It's more of a sitting area for employees to sit, eat lunch, chat or grab some Sun and or just meditate. I would not travel to downtown Manhattan to specifically go to this park.
