it’s freeeee! you’re not gonna be dropped off at the feet of Ms Liberty herself but it’s close enough for something you literally just hop on and enjoy. the terminal itself is located just a short walk from the Charging Bull of Wall Street, which makes both attractions easy to hit up in succession. getting into a ferry is pretty easy as well, just wait for one at the seating area (where there are plenty of convenience/food stores situated) and line up at the gate when a ferry docks. there’s hardly a need to queue either since the ferries come pretty frequently. the ride is a short fifteen minutes, where you can view the iconic statue and snap a few photos of the Manhattan skyline. try going for a night ride back, the view is pretty magnificent. - broke college kid

Honestly, I didn’t expect something as “ordinary” as a ferry ride to be this cool. But the Staten Island Ferry is a real experience. The terminal itself feels nice – clean, well-organized, and there’s food if you’re hungry (had to grab a classic Nathan’s hot dog right away). But the best part is out on the water. The view of Manhattan is absolutely stunning. And the Statue of Liberty? Perfectly visible – one of those moments where you just stand there, wind in your face, and think: “Yep, this is the New York from the movies.” I took a ton of photos, but they still don’t fully capture it. Overall, it’s a great way to enjoy something iconic without spending a single dollar. Plus, it’s a nice break from the hustle of the city. A must-do in NYC, for sure.

Whitehall Ferry Terminal is a shining example of modern design and cleanliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. The presence of public toilets and easily accessible drinking water inside the terminal adds to the convenience of the facility. I was delighted by the wide variety of food and beverage options available, including a great selection of coffee to choose from. The provision of chairs for waiting made my experience even more comfortable and enjoyable. I highly rate Whitehall Ferry Terminal for its excellent amenities and overall positive ambiance.
