It's extremely rare that I feel compelled to write a bad review but given the circumstances in this case, I think it's necessary. I walked into Suit Supply this afternoon with a close friend who is a loyal customer at the Williamsburg location.
I walked in excited to browse the store and gave the main greeter a big hello how are you and was met with a "what can I help you with" in a very condescending tone. I didn't think much of it until my friend mentioned he was looking for jeans and in the same condescending tone and unamused look he responded "which jeans." I was really thrown off by for a lack of better words the mean girl energy in the store and asked my friend if it was common to get this type of unfriendly service, to which he responded yes and if we were perhaps more dressed up that we may receive better service. Still floored by this I waited as my friend went into the dressing room to try on a pair of denim. Turned out he needed a bigger size so I went to the front desk asking for one size up to which a new employee replied that the size that was given to him was his regular size as it was shown in his records. Instead of just giving me the size up which would have been the easiest and most customer centric option, he walked over to my friend by the dressing room and proceeded to reiterate that the size given to him was his regular size. This is where it got ridiculous - this man had the audacity to ask my friend if anything had changed since the summer implying that he may have gained weight if his usual size didn't fit and he continued to go back and forth about this. Such an absolutely unnecessary line of questioning and borderline fat phobic way to deal with a customer. In the end, he admitted that this line of jeans was slim fit which makes all the sense in the world why he would need a size up.
Fortunately, once he got the size up in jeans a new employee Tayla helped us out with getting them hemmed. She was extremely friendly and helpful and as you can imagine a welcomed change. If it wasn't for her great customer service, my friend and I would have most definitely walked out of the store without purchasing anything.
I really hope that someone from management sees this and works to course correct some of the clear cultural issues in the store. It really doesn't take much to treat your customers with a little kindness and respect, regardless if you think they may spend a lot or little with you. I totally recognize that all people can have bad days and if that was the case for today then I understand. If not, hopefully some bigger change will take place so that a future customer doesn't have to experience the...

The first visit (Williamsburg) was for a custom made suit…. the entire experience was very underwhelming to say the least…. The sales assistant was clearly dragging her feet and it seemed she had no intention to help me. She disappeared a couple times and each time came back 5+ minutes later without any reason instead of helping me choose the fabric or go over the other details of my suit. The measurements were taken very (too) quickly. All measurements are based off of one of their RTW suits. I have nothing against it if it is more efficient, but I was baffled when she didn’t really know how to accommodate one of my (basic) wishes (I wanted high waisted trousers)…. while she ultimately found a way (with the help of one of her - more helpful - colleagues), the overall feeling I have about their custom made program is that it is very imprecise… (the opposite of what i am looking for).
The second visit (Soho) was for dress shirts. I was a bit reluctant to go given my recent experience, but decided to give it another try since I like the aesthetics of the brand and assuming I had had bad luck the previous time… unfortunately this second visit basically confirmed my feeling about the quality of the service… the sales assistant was not really enthusiastic to say the least, she didn’t provide any guidance as to which size/fit was best for me… the entire process was painful. I still bought 3 shirts. I will probably be returning 2 out of the 3 since they fit differently depending on the fabric (I realized that at home… the sales assistant could have warned me about it…).
Long story short, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired (sale assistants not proactive, not focused on finding a solution) and I was unimpressed by the custom made program itself… I am supposed to receive the suit in a few days… unless I am blown away by the final product, it is very unlikely I will be giving Suitsupply any of my...
