USA Martial Arts Fitness Center — Attraction in New York

My kids and I have been attending this school for approximately 8 mths. Without prior experience with martial arts or sports, it's amazing how much we've grown in physical fitness while learning a new skill set. With hard work, determination, and the most patient and long suffering instructors that won't quit...we are now sporting orange and green belts. Even more remarkable were the unforeseen benefits. My kids are more confident, boosting self esteems, focused, self motivated and disciplined. Attributes transferable to other arenas of their young lives. The social culture at this school is very commendable. The environment is very inclusive. The staff and students are readily available to provide more than just professional tutelage. They willingly offer support and guidance that extends beyond the curriculum of a martial arts class. Reminds me of an old almost forgotten phase, "it takes a village to raise a child." I definitely recommend this school. To the "first timers"...you'll receive so much love and support it will abate any feelings of apprehension and intimidation. My parents forced me to take the trial class, and I hated every second of it for the entire hour. I am a musician that never did any kind of physical activity nor sport. However, the master advised me to try the classes for a month; I guess he knew what he was doing. During that month, I realized that I loved it and wanted to stay. I have watched myself transform. I am learning to do things with my body that I never thought possible. My physically fitness has improved remarkably; my stamina, endurance and flexibility have evolved immensely. This quiet, shy and gentle musician has kicked her way to a green belt in only seven months. The school also offers discipline and structure. For teenagers such as myself, the staff here offers the right formula of kindness and strictness (tough-love). It allows you to grow not just with physical fitness, but also in other areas of your life. The staff and students here are very welcoming and friendly. This shy girl has made many friends due to this safe, nurturing and comfortable environment. I recommend this school to anyone, regardless of their background. I believe my son started about four or five months ago , at first he was nervous didn't want to fight with no other kids. Plus in school when they would bother him he stood up or told the teacher. which in my opinion is good but ... If parents know most kids just don't stop so I wanted and my husband as well wanted to make sure he'll grow up knowing how to defend himself. After months of class he has built more confident in himself and solves his own problems doesn't tell me or teachers but tells them himself not to bother him. I love how master and his staff have patience for their students as well as dicipline. I have to admit sometimes my son need a firm talk from them to take his class serious. But after his belt from white to yellow and he saw how three kids won trophys he started taking his classes serious, saying he will win one, one day and so I'm so happy his way of thinking now.
