I wanted to surprise my wife with a hair makeover for her birthday, so we visited Shampoo West Village location. What should have been an exciting and joyful experience turned into a nightmare due to the appalling treatment my wife received. The visit started with a pricing misquoteā$130 was initially quoted, but when I returned to pick her up, it had jumped to $180. While I was fine with this, as mistakes happen, the real issue began when my wife was dissatisfied with the service and expressed her concerns to the owner. After some discussion, the owner agreed to have her hair corrected by the same stylist, Geneva. Thatās when things took a horrible turn.
From the start, Geneva was rude and unprofessional. My wife was simply looking at reference pictures on her phone when Geneva made a snide remark, saying she would "never get hair like that" because her hair had too many chemicals. Instead of explaining the limitations with professionalism, she chose to be condescending. During the treatment, my wife asked for a tissue when hair color got on her cheek, to which Geneva snapped, "You're not the only client I have," before raising her voice and shouting, "All I am asking for is a minute!"
This stylist continuously instigated my wife and treated her as if she was a burden rather than a paying client. My wife endured the humiliation until she couldn't take it anymoreāshe left the salon in tears, with color still in her hair.
When I returned to the salon to demand answers, Geneva had conveniently disappeared. The receptionist was half-apologetic but mostly dismissive, stating that they would ātalk toā Geneva but offering no real accountability for the mistreatment my wife suffered.
No paying customer should ever have to experience this kind of disrespect. This was meant to be a special gift, and instead, it became a distressing experience that ruined her day. I strongly urge others to reconsider before trusting this salon with something as personal as their hair. If customer service, professionalism, and basic human decency matter to you,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDo not got here for Keratin if you want hair straightening!!! I booked a Keratin and cut because I had previously gotten Keratin and my roots were growing in. At the beginning of the appointment, I explained how my roots were curly and this was my biggest concern for the appointment. The stylist commented that my hair looked very straight from previous keratins.
Mid-way through the application, the stylist explained that their Keratin (Cezanne) only softens curls and does not straighten hair. She was aware from the beginning that my desired result was straight hair. The treatment cost almost $500 and they added extra charges for additional product. When I washed my hair after the treatment, my roots are still noticeably curly which was the whole reason I got the treatment. When I reached out to salon to see if they could fix the treatment to get my desired results, they said that their treatments do not straighten hair and then blamed me for not doing sufficient research into the specific keratin brand that they offer. They also said I should have known the difference between "smoothing" and "straightening" on their website.
The stylist should have communicated in the beginning that the treatment that I booked was not going to give me the desired results that I expressed explicitly in the beginning. In the future, stylists should be transparent about the realistic results of treatment especially at such a high expense, whether they will need extra charges for treatment and management should not blame clients for not researching specific brands of the products they use when they express dissatisfaction...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSooo I got my first nyc haircut. When I want a haircut I want it then and there but obviously itās hard to find someone you trust. I went through the entire internet looking for stylists that fit my vibe. Then I came across Cassie. I stalked her insta and loved the way she cut hair. She also happened to have an appointment that day so I knew it was meant to be. Tbh I would have waited for her to become available but it was so excited. They were lovely when I walked in, straight to chair and started talking about what I wanted. I showed her some pics & went to shampoo. They use some of the best products in the salon too, and they give you 20% off if you want to buy any (not sure for all so donāt quote me on that). She literally ATE with the hair. Sooooo good exactly what I wanted, exactly the inspo pictures. Iāve never had someone cut my hair and it turns out like this inspo pics bc I always show people with really thick nice long blonde hair and that is not me haha. Although I think my hair became 2x thicker since the cut. Iām super happy with the way it air dries too. Will be back. Thank...
