I am very sad to write a negative review about this restaurant. I went to dinner at Bar Pitti on Saturday night, 01 May 2021. It was a "boy's night out" with 2 of my best friends. Bar Pitti was recommended by my friend Ty, who works in the fine dining industry, and knows that I love good Italian food since I lived in Italy for 7 years and that my other best friend Roberto, who joined us, is from Rome, Italy, and enjoys exceptional cuisine from his native land as well. We enjoyed our meal, very much, as the food was excellent and in addition, very authentic, and our servers were absolutely charming. When we were leaving, our server said goodby and asked how we enjoyed our dinner, and I said that the food was delicious and that we truly enjoyed the warm and friendly atmosphere that the staff created. We were pleased to leave very generous tips, as we'd all three agreed, the serving staff absolutely deserved. Before we left, my friend Roberto went downstairs to use the ATM machine, and my friend Ty was peeking at the kitchen through the server's window. I stepped outside, to stay out of the way of the busy staff, and also to get some fresh air. Then all of a sudden I saw and heard my friend Ty being verbally assaulted by a silver/white-haired member of the Bar Pitti staff who was practically chasing him out of the restaurant. This man was shouting at Ty in the most disrespectful manner as if he was reprimanding a child. I would not even reprimand a child with such a humiliating tone, and I certainly have no idea why any staff member in a restaurant would ever speak to a customer in this atrocious way. He was accusing my friend of taking pictures of the other patrons without their permission. When we walked away, Ty explained that he was not even taking pictures, but rather writing a note to himself about the restaurant, for the purpose of future recommendations. One of our servers saw what was happening and tried to intervene, in order to know what was going on, and I told him, in Italian, that we had enjoyed our meal, but that I would never be back, after being insulted in this appalling fashion. I am terribly sorry that I must mention, at this point, that Ty and I are both of African descent. I could tell from the attitude of this older silver/white-haired staff member, that he did not see us as customers, but as persons that he feels entitled to talk down to and shout at. It was obvious that he did not appreciate our business, nor did he desire that we ever return to Bar Pitti again, which I can guarantee, shall...

A True Gem in the Heart of the City: Bar Pitti

I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience at Bar Pitti, a hidden gem that I was fortunate enough to discover through regulars who frequent this restaurant at least once a week. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this was a special place - the owner and staff greeted us with warm hugs, making us feel like old friends.

A Home Away from Home

Despite its small size, Bar Pitti has a way of making you feel like you're in a cozy home, rather than a bustling restaurant. The staff's genuine warmth and hospitality are contagious, and you can't help but feel like you're part of the family. As we settled in, I couldn't help but notice the regulars who were treated like celebrities - it's clear that Bar Pitti has a loyal following, and for good reason.

A Culinary Masterclass

But what truly sets Bar Pitti apart is its exceptional food. I started with the garden salad, which was a masterclass in balance and flavor. The fresh lettuce, grape tomatoes, and light dressing all came together to create a dish that was both refreshing and satisfying. And then, of course, there was the freshly-baked bread - which was, quite literally, to die for. I've never tasted bread that was so tender, so fluffy, and so utterly divine.

Pasta Perfection

But the real pièce de résistance was the pasta. I opted for the simple yet spicy penne with tomato sauce, which was cooked to perfection. And then, I added a side of pesto - which turned out to be one of the most robust and flavorful pesto sauces I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. It was like a symphony of flavors on my palate, with the pesto adding a richness and depth to the dish that elevated it to new heights.

A Must-Try for Any Food Lover

If you're a food lover like me, you owe it to yourself to try Bar Pitti. The service is exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the food is truly outstanding. I've already made a mental note to come back and try more of their dishes - and I'm sure I'll be back again and again.

Rating Breakdown:

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Overall Experience: 5/5 Recommendation:

If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, look no further than Bar Pitti. Be sure to try the garden salad, the freshly-baked bread, and the pesto - and don't be afraid to ask for recommendations from the staff, who are always happy to help. And if you're a regular, don't worry - you'll be treated like family, just like the regulars who frequent this restaurant at least...

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining here, and I must say it was a complete letdown from start to finish. The combination of exorbitant prices, subpar food, and questionable practices left me thoroughly disappointed. First and foremost, the prices at bar pitti were absolutely outrageous. A simple beer costing $10 is already a steep price, but it was nothing compared to the $28 dish of pasta I ordered. For that price, I expected an exceptional culinary experience, but what I received was far from it. The pasta itself was lackluster, to say the least. The flavors were bland, the portion size was underwhelming, and the overall presentation was unremarkable. It felt like a hastily thrown together dish, lacking the finesse and attention to detail that one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. It is safe to say that the quality of the food did not match the exorbitant prices. Adding insult to injury, the waitstaff at par pitti committed an illegal act by automatically including a tip of more than 20% on the check for a party of 3. Such a practice is not only unethical but also against the law. Customers should have the right to decide the amount they wish to tip based on the quality of service received. This automatic addition left a bitter taste in my mouth, as it felt like an attempt to take advantage of unsuspecting patrons. To make matters worse, bar pitti is cash only. In this modern age where digital payment methods are prevalent, it is highly inconvenient and outdated to expect customers to carry cash for their dining experiences. This restriction only adds to the overall negative experience and further demonstrates the restaurant's disregard for current norms and customer convenience. In conclusion, my visit here was marred by overpriced, mediocre food, the inclusion of an illegal automatic tip, and the inconvenience of being cash only. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. It is evident that this place has a long way to go in terms of both their culinary offerings and their adherence to ethical and...
