Battery Park — Attraction in Newport

Peaceful, with a beautiful view, quiet, and also romantic. Not only does it have benches where you can sit and watch the boats, the bridge, and the gorgeous Newport sunsets, there is also a huge grass area where you can sit with a chair or a blanket, and have lunch or dinner and also get some sun. Also, there is a small Beach area where you can sit either on the sand, or there are some large rocks that you can climb on and sit also. It's a private area. Also good for collecting shells if you're like me and you like that sort of thing. :-) it's a spot that me and my husband...

Nice park area with benches. We found parking by the nearby residential streets I came looking for sea glass so climbed down to the water but not very much of the shoreline has pebbles/sand. There was a bit of broken glass but that's all. However, this area does look lovely to watch the sunrise/sunset particularly looking over the bridge and the water. I agree with the other reviews there is great photography potential here. Seems like a good place to just sit...

It is on the water so the views are nice. But the lack of parking means you have to double park on the road and then there is not enough room for cars to get by so even one extra car causes a minor traffic jam. Plenty of trees for shade and a railing for safety. Nice place for photos. I was there as a wedding photographer and the pictures are fantastic with the bridge...
