This place overall was a great experience for my two year old, myself, and his grandparents. It is something unique for a park district. However, there were some negatives during our time here such as the staff not being attentive in the space (at the desk on cell phones and not being friendly when questions were asked). I would recommend this space mostly for younger kids (6 and under). Most of the activities are geared to smaller children.

Pros: clean, easy to access, several areas for toddlers, seats in each area for adults, clear eye sight in every area to watch your little one, activities geared toward learning and burning off energy, baby seats at several areas for infants so they can enjoy.

Cons: staff was not attentive, relied heavily on parents to keep area clean and safe for children, experience will heavily depend who is there since staff is not keeping parents/kids accountable, pricing structure ($5 for resident and $6 for nonresident, this is for everyone), only one size of smocks for water table, the track on top of water table was broken and was not available for use, not for older kids (geared towards infants, toddlers, and...

Beautiful facility. I had my son’s 4th birthday party here and the space was clean and big. The party room was also spacious.

However, the staff is absolutely atrocious. They were extremely rude and unwelcoming from the moment I walked in. I wish I had been notified of all the events happening, because the parking lot was so full that my guests had to circle around over and over again to find parking. When I mentioned that, the front desk didn’t care at all.

Second, the staff did not let people know where to go. Just sat at the front desk not directing anyone anywhere as they came into the facility.

Third, I had two staff members interrupt my party to tell me to ā€œwrap it upā€ when I had plenty of time to clean up. Very upsetting and belittling.

I wish this facility would train their staff. They completely ruined the event for me and left me stressed out after I left. No one should have to go through this when they are paying their own money to...

Everyone spoke wonders of this place, what a disappointment. This place is filthy as you walk in the smell is overwhelming. The water in the play area did not look clean. Definitely not a place for kids who can't walk. My kid almost got run over and older kids just take things of little kids hands, Definitely not a place for kids that are too little or too old. Aside from that front desk lady was anything but welcoming, even after we mentioned it was our fist time. Not to mention overpriced for a place so poorly maintained. Not sure why adults have to pay. The only plus is that the "ticket" is valid all day. As soon as we came in we decided the 18 dollars was not worth it and requested a refund but it became too much a hassle we gave it 20 minutes instead but we decided to never go back.

Thanks but no thanks. Only wish I could have...

Recommended for toddlers through age 6, Skokie Park District’s Exploritorium is the perfect winter destination! šŸ›It’s like a mini children’s museum, including a brand new 3-story climbing structure that just opened in October, and a Tiny Town that opened in May! There’s also a designated baby and toddler area with soft crawling areas and appropriate toys, and a water play zone that has baby seats to prevent FOMO. We were so impressed with the space and there’s a LOT to do. Easily 2 hours of time! This is a fun place to come on rainy days or any day. It is the cheapest place to bring children. $5 per residence and $6 for non-residents. It has a two-story climbing structure where older children expand most of the time. They have a section for toddler , a building block section , a train section and puzzle section. They also have a water play section and a pretend section. It is always very clean. Outside the playgrounds they have tables you can bring your own lunch then sell food here.

Small but fun place for kids. The entrance fee is pretty reasonable. Adults will also have to pay and entrance fee. Even though the place is small it has enough items to keep kids occupied for a few hours. It can get really crowded. There are costumes, magnetic toys, giant blocks, rock climbing and many more. There is also a fishing area where kids can fish toy fishes. Adults will get bored but kids will definitely have fun. Even city should have a place like this for kids.
