In March 2021 I bought a Shure SLX-D wireless system to use with our Countryman headset microphone. I bought it at Paul Bothners Music in Cape Town, South Africa.
Just over two years later (mid-2023) we were getting noise through the system on this channel and even got noise if we unplugged the microphone from the SLXD1G59 transmitter.
I took the system in to Paul Bothners where it was tested with a different microphone and the same problem persisted, so it was sent to Shure Johannesburg.
After some time they got hold of us and said that there is nothing wrong with the Shure SLX-D wireless system and sent it back to us with some suggestions. When we got it back we tried the various suggestions and found that the problem persisted.
We then took it back to Paul Bothners and they tested it again in store and asked one of their technicians to test it offsite. Both times they found that there was a problem with the Shure SLX-D wireless system and so they sent it back to Shure Johannesburg a second time.
After a while, Shure Johannesburg sent it back saying that there is nothing wrong with it. When it arrived back at Paul Bothners it was then sent on to a different, highly skilled technician who was easily able to reproduce the problem and confirm that the Shure SLX-D wireless system is faulty and that it is SLXD1G59 transmitter specifically and most likely a factory default.
It is unacceptable that we have received such poor service from a company and brand that produces high end, quality products. I find it unbelievable that their technicians have not been able to reproduce the problem.
This has SERIOUSLY shaken my faith in Shure and...
Read moreHavent been to the company but I have used their products like the SE535 & SE112 Ear Phones and one will not believe the SOUND!! I'm soon buying their $500 Headphones, the 1540 closed backs! yes, $500.00! AND WELLLLLL WORTH IT!! This company SURPASSES alot of sound companies like Bose, Beats, Sony, and even Sennhieser! etc a truly AMAZING COMPANY FOR AUDIO equipment or various other Devices, you'll have to HEAR IT to believe it!!! Their are only 3 other competitors in contrast with them Jerry Harvey, Westone & Ultimate Ears but the three have collaborated in the past together on various aspects of craftsmanship of their technology and don't really see each other as competitors. I've had the Ultimate Ears IE 40's they were almost similar in greatness as the Shure SE535's!! but with SHURE you have a near 100 YEAR EXPERIENCED audio engineers providing YOUR SOUND!!! SHURE is quite possibly THE ONLY company an audiophile could ever need that makes passionately accurate & intricately crafted...
Read moreI have a long and very favorable relationship with Shure Inc. it's very likely that the first microphone that I ever owned was a Shure. There are many of their products that I could say are my favorites, I would have to say that the SM series of mics is the best and most respected the SM 57 and SM 58's are the live music industry standards. They simply have a strong presence everywhere the world over extremely versatile and rugged if you only owned one mic this would be your best choice. A quick word about wireless; the Shure line of wireless products are outstanding performers and very rugged. If you happen to own a 55s from any era congratulations, and don't let go of it,...
