Harlem Irving Plaza — Attraction in Norwood Park Township

This mall has been subject to cash and grabs during the day where security do nothing (just google to see what I am talking about), but the guard had the nerve to chase down my mother to bother her over two small dogs in a carrier. We entered through Kohls. There is no sign there that pets weren't allowed. Most malls do not mind as long as the pet is in a carrier. I also immediately looked on the mall entrance and saw nothing except for a sign stating no smoking or weapons.

I called security after this incident. The same guy answered who would not let me speak and started talking over me, making it seem like we were criminals telling us to keep dogs in the car. I can tell he doesn't own pets. Dogs in cars for long periods get stolen or suffer from suffocation if it's hot out. Then, he started screaming at me asking me where I was in the mall now as if he wanted to chase me down. As I was exiting the parking lot, I saw him apply no pet stickers on all the doors. This guy was crazy. I will no longer frequent this trashy mall. I will go to higher end pet friendly establishments. Service animals and small dogs in carriers/strollers should be allowed. They are bothering nobody. They are not urinating on the floors or defecating as they are in carriers. Why didn't this guard stop all the criminals, but he wants to be on a power trip over small dogs? I see another review where they stopped a woman who actually had a service dog.

For the record, in store retail has taken a hit. They should be kind to any honest customers who come through their mall. Many tourists also cannot leave their dogs in hotels or at the homes of their hosts.

I also understand that the security guards do not make the rules, but he could have been polite about it rather than treating us like we are criminals, not letting me talk when I called, and claiming there are signs all over when that is not the truth. He was belligerent. He could have simply stated, "Ma'am I am sorry, but unfortunately these are the rules and I am forced to enforce them."

This mall need to modernize themselves as others have done and high end stores such as Nordstrom which allow pets. This is 2024 and so many people have pets and their pets are important to them.

I have also been at many malls as I love malls especially indoor malls. The security at this mall are the worst in the world. They harass innocent people constantly. I even saw them harassing teenagers for not having parents with, but they do nothing to stop criminals who do come in with weapons and commit armed robbery during...

When I was there it was clean, fairly well organized and pretty quiet.

I went to Journeys and bought shoes and socks. New Balance, 10 women's. A few stores I went to, they didn't have XXL AT ALL! Which is insane, most females are that size, especially if over 40-50. We shouldn't have to "go buy it online." Then RETURN IT when it's JUNIORS, and they don't make a lot of tees in adult WOMEN'S sizes. Like MTV logo stuff that's just fun. So the fit is awful. And not worth altering. There should be sizing for women past pregnancy and/or menopause. Because their bodies are NOT like a 12 year old "Juniors."

Also STUPID, because women over 40 have all the CASH and do most of the shopping! Teenagers might hang around, but they "got no money!"

At Kohl's, two or three salesgirls SAW me holding EASILY $500.00+ worth of merchandise and NEVER ASKED to get me a damn CART. I was ready to put it ALL DOWN and just leave. I even ASKED where the carts were and they wanted to send me across the WHOLE STORE! For ME to go get one myself!! TWICE that happened.

Completely insane to not help customers.

Maybe a large cart like a grocery cart you can use in the whole mall? Please?

Also, women's shoe selection was at Kohl's was ABYSMALLY BAD. I didn't even really look. Two pairs of dress shoes, really? Very stupid, as I normally buy 3 pairs or more.

The Spanish older janitorial guy or house keeping whatever he is was so rude and did something uncalled for. We walk into the mall we go to the rest rooms towards opinions Ltd, and I go into the women's restroom as I should and my husband takes our son. Well a few minutes later I hear my husband yelling I can't understand what he's saying at the moment so I hurry up and go out of the restroom while I asked what's going on ? The older housekeeping lady keeps apologizing to me over and over saying it's her fault I'm sorry I'm like what's your fault? Well the male housekeeper swings open the men's rest room and trys to pull my son by his arm yelling at my husband saying she needs to get out now!! And my husband said who? He proceeds to accuse my husband of having a little girl in the restroom.!!! That my made husband even more madder because he hates ppl like that, needless to say my "Son" has long hair all my son's have long hair and this man was super disrespectful rude and gender assumed my son. However my son was so scared we ran into at the end of the hall where I stopped to have him eat and he was so nervous looking at this old man.
