I was a member at elements massage in Montclair for over a year when they closed. I was allowed to take my last massage at the elements massage of my choice, so I went to Nutley. .After my massage I informed the front desk staff that I wanted to sign up for membership there. The person at the front desk informed me that my membership was transferred to Nutley. My monthly fee for the following month was never deducted so, I called and left messages on 2 separate occasions to make sure I was indeed a member. I called during business hours on both occasions and there was a recording stating I would receive a call back. I never received a call back. I was delighted to receive a text regarding my next massage scheduled 7/7th. I arrived early only to find out I was being charged the full non-membership price. This did not make make sense: 1. I was a member and was told I was transferred; 2. They offer $40 off for first time customers. Since my initial massage was a transfer, i am in fact a first time client! To top off the disrespect and poor communication, I was charged a $35 cancellation fee due to my refusal to pay full price. The poor communication and zero desire to be accommodating to a new or transferred client is appalling! I should have been able to complete the forms and been charged membership fee. I should never be penalized when the staff gives misinformation, does not answer the phone and does not return calls. Funny thing is they prefer $35 for one time fee, rather than the membership fee times 2, monthly. My husband and I consistently get massages. NEXT! We’ll take our business elsewhere. where it is respected, reasonable & accommodating. For now, I'll have to travel further. Jennifer Day spa is better than Elements Massage in Nutley, anywAy! Damen was always great! It is a clean place. The women at the front desk was very helpful. She stamped my member card twice as she should of. I never saw her again after that visit and dealing with the other women at the front desk was a horrible experience. Getting 1 stamp after my visits for the same services. Making my appointments and putting me in as a standby. Not texting me reminders about my upcoming appointments. Instead of my usual 90 minute massage, I was only scheduled for 60 minutes. The manager Emily is very unprofessional and not helpful at all. She admitted to the mistakes with the stamping of my member card and left me a card with the missing stamps that I would pick up on my next visit. At the next visit they had misplaced the card and I was told there was nothing they could do about it.
The membership is frustrating. Sometimes I would leave there more stressed then when I arrived. With them billing your credit card every month it seems impossible to receive a free massage when you fill up your membership card with stamps. If I ever go back to this place it would be for the great service that Damen provided but I will never become a member again.

Read moreThe customer service in this particular location is atrocious!! They reschedule your appointment when it's convenient for them. Hello I'm the one paying this membership! UNACCEPTABLE! They change your appointment time and expect for you to be okay with it! NO it's not OK! My schedule is just as crucial, if I schedule an appointment for a specific time there's a reason. I shouldn't have to elaborate on my personal itinerary and rearrange my schedule to accommodate other clienteles that changed there massage session last minute... just because they're trying to fill in open slots in there schedule due to a cancellation. Unfortunately, I have only one positive review about this Nutley location. The massage therapists are great wish I could say the same for the receptionists. I cancelled my membership, but get this I still had to pay a one month membership fee for the following month. Why should i have to pay the following month membership fee when I'm giving them ample notice about cancelling my membership. Who in their right mind would pay almost $100 for a monthly membership and tolerate the incompetence, sarcastic, unacceptable customer service this particular facility/location has to offer.
