Update 4-23-25 CDpeacock is having a 1 year anniversary celebration at 6pm 4-24. I got an invite, not from anyone in Oakbrook but from Woodfield. Was it because I just spent almost $10,000 on A Tudor and Mikimoto there so based on how much I purchased? I buy every year. I guess customers like me are forgotten and ignored. If i didn't spend again i would have been excluded and not made aware of any celebrations. What a shame. I will not be attending. No thanks! I wanted everyone to see that only "select" customers are invited.
‐----- I really wanted to take some time to provide a thorough review. As a 3rd generation customer, I feel that unlike many of the new shoppers I have some feedback for your staff to improve.
Pros: -Beautiful store. Much larger than other watch locations. Brands- not only does Peacock sell Rolex, but they have almost every Swatch Group brand available including Breguet, Glashutte, Omega, Longines. Tudor only made it's entry into the US and to Peacock recently but it's been amply available across Asia and the world for decades already. Aside from watches they also sell John Hardy (competitor to Yurman), Mikimoto, and Hearts on Fire brand (owned by Chow Tai Fook the world's largest jewelry brand). So if you're looking to view and try on a tourbillon watch, or see a fancy intense yellow diamond (we used to be able to try on the 20 ct peacock diamond, or purchase some south sea golden pearls by Mikimoto, go here. CONS -Pricing - it is not competitive. Omega, Tudor, Rolex and Channel are all stores within a stire, and as a boutique, rather than an authorized retailer no discounts allowed. For all other brands, little to no discounts for newer watch and jewelry especially if they are new releases. Which I find to be not true because Macy's also sells lower end Swatch Group brands such as Mido and Tissot and they have discounts. They even discount Rado and Longines, have 12 month no interest free financing, and worry no more program. Not CD Peacock. Customer Service nonexistent. I used to shop at all the other locations Michigan Ave, Northbrook Court, and Old Orchard. I have always received positive experiences when Jesse Avila took care of me in Schaumburg, Northbrook Court and briefly when he was at Mayors. However, most of the other staff who used to work at Old Orchard and later moved to Oakbrook treat me as if I do not exist. Never a hello. Last time I was there I sat waiting 40 min for someone to help me with a watch strap change. Everyone walked past me and no help was offered until I walked up to Abdullah. Keep in mind I was asked by concierge to sit and wait upstairs on the sofa by the card catalogs for help. -Delays in Product- i purchased. Longines central power reserve but they didn't have a long strap. So I requested a xl length one be ordered. 1month, then two months pass by and still nothing. No follow ups no email nada. I called and kept getting the turnaround.I escalated and asked corporate by writing to info@cdpeacock.com and no one replied so I asked Anthony the manager to assist. Of course the blame was shifted to corporate headquarters and he said there was a computer system issue which prevented me from getting my replacement strap. He's surprised no one from corporate reached out to me. My question is why did no one from Peacock let me know what is going on and why there was no apology or willingness to help me find out what happened. What made the situation worse is if I rewind one year back in 2023, I purchased a rare numbered edition Omega ck859 manual wind watch from Old Orchard (same staff) and they had the exact same issue. No xl strap. Well I have a Corporate contact who immediately was able ship the xl strap for both the Omega and Longines from Switzerland. -No follow up - i have several holy grail watch items i have lusted over for many Years, some of which included rolex serti, rolex cellini prince, cartier drive, and Tag skeleton Monaco. I asked numerous associates to keep an eye out. No one did. When i finally see those pieces later, I no longer...
Read moreI cannot say enough great things about C.D. Peacock's Oakbrook location. Their staff, namely Urszula F and Erin S, have been extremely welcoming, helpful, and patient with me throughout four major purchases at this storefront (engagement ring, my mother's upgraded ring, and two Rolex watches).
I think most people can relate to being unfairly judged and mistreated/mistrusted at other high-end jewelers & retailers when walking through their front doors. It seems as if you aren't wearing a $5k outfit, they will proactively scurry you from their stores. Not at C.D. Peacock!!! My first time at C.D. was in a Carhartt sweatshirt, yet Urszula and the Oakbrook staff treated me with nothing but respect. This includes not having to suffer through leading questions like, "What do you do for a living?" It was very refreshing to say the least. Another huge pro at C.D. is that they actually let you try on the jewelry in the cases. We've all been to "the other guys" that just giggle at you when you want to try on a nicer piece. Again, C.D. treats everyone with a smile and respect.
My experience(s) at C.D.'s Oakbrook location have been so wonderful that I will probably never buy another piece elsewhere (nor get my jewelry cleaned, resized, or repaired elsewhere). I will detail each experience below for anyone interested in the different aspects of C.D. (the watches, custom jewelry, & "off the shelf" jewelry).
Custom Jewelry - I would not hesitate to embark on a custom piece with C.D. Peacock!! My engagement ring and my mother's upgraded ring were both custom pieces. Erin, the location's designer, sat with me to hear my rough ideas. By no means did I have a final destination in mind since I was creating something from scratch that I had never personally seen an example of before. After multiple one-on-one appointments and hours upon hours of playing with diamonds, we finally landed on the perfect ring for me. I could not be happier.
"Off the Shelf" Jewelry - You really cannot beat this experience either. The whole process is super convenient. Four great things worth mentioning: they will let you try stuff on and hold it in your hand, the jewelry has it's price tag attached to it, the selection in their store is vast and incredible, and they will clean, resize and/or modify the jewelry right there for you.
Watches - As soon as Urszula caught wind I was intending to surprisingly gift two Rolex watches to two accomplished employees, she insisted we make it something even more special for them. And boy did she deliver! We visited the store on a Saturday around closing time and the tiny details she included for our small group were amazing (chocolates, champagne, perfectly gift-wrapped watches, and she even took photos for us). Thanks to the Oakbrook staff, our special night out will never be forgotten. We even got to meet Mr. Holtzman for a brief moment - what a special experience! I don't believe any other retailer in the entire country would take this kind of time and attention to simply sell two watches. Kudos to ownership for an unwavering dedication to superb customer service and...
Read more(Updated). My apologies for the length of this review but it is merited. First off, let me just say that the new store looks amazing. For a first time shopper, it may seem a bit too luxurious and intimidating, however it is the farthest thing from the truth as the staff quickly changes your mind. From the times that I’ve visited either just to window shop, kill time at the mall or make an actual purchase, there is NOT an ounce of snobbery or otherwise present in the service staff. You are greeted in a welcoming manner each and every time.
That being said, I was back again. This time for a Tudor Black Bay (red bezel). I know it sounds like old hat but service is always exceptional. Maria and Sheila treated me like family - or an old friend. Very accommodating, friendly and professional - as are the rest of the staff here. With a wide selection of brands and an additional CD Peacock warranty, it has become my go-to place to treat my sickness, err…. purchase a watch.
It seems my previous review was deleted because of my 2nd review, so I’ll summarize my first review:
Went in one day with my friend just to window shop. Went to the Rolex area and Lana was nice enough to help us look at watches (none to sell) Never being pushy or aggressive, she patiently pulled out the display models and let us enjoy them on our wrists. We then spoke about timelines to receive a watch. Knowing the stories you hear and read about that you have to “prove” yourself as a worthy client by purchasing other watches before they allow you to purchase a Rolex, The OP was nice enough that I jokingly put in an order thinking I’ll never get the call since I have no previous purchases with CDP. Well, one year later, almost to the day, Lana calls me and informs me my watch is in! I went over the next day to pick it up and Lana was there waiting to receive me so she can size it. I was so happy with the service that I put an order in for a root beer GMT with her (now thinking it may be years before they call me again). Nope! 3 months later, I’m the proud father of a GMT Master II root beer. Lana came through again. She is just fantastic in how she treats her customers and such a pleasure to speak with, so a triple 5 star review for each purchase. I’m sure I’ll be back - because I put in another order...
