Employee at beach life has terrible customer care. Was searching for a bathing suit and noticed my size was at the top. I found the stick-hook and asked employee if I could borrow it. I was returned with “I can get that for you if you can just wait.” So I waited and thanked her and asked if I needed anything to go in the dressing room and she said “no but I suggest you try them on because we don’t do returns or exchanges.” I was prepared for this, as I am not from the area, but still entirely negative in conversation. Unfortunately they did not fit so I returned them to the wall. My friend held up a suit she found and waved me down. The same associate said “you can’t have that I haven’t finished pricing it.” Again, completely understandable, but also incredibly poor communication skills. As my friend finished shopping I watched thus woman have a number of similar interactions with customers including rude comments. No sale from me. If you can’t have a decent attitude, stay in the back away from...
Read moreI'm a little upset and bothered. The store alone is pretty neat, but the management needs some improvement. I was on vacation with my family when I heard yelling echoing trough the store and it turned out to be what I can only assume the manager publicly yelling at one of the employees, in the center of the room where everyone can hear and see it. They didn't even care enough to bring them to the side and talk to them privately. Especially when that employee is the sweetest lady I've ever met. Nobody deserves that kind of treatment. I shopped at this store twice, and the first day was pretty fun, the employees were very nice and helpful, but the second time it was them getting yelled at. It's none of my business, but at least pull them to the side or something.. The woman left almost immediately, as she should. That guy looked, and acted incredibly rude.not something you want to see on...
Read moreVisited the store this morning while traveling with my daughter and husband. It’s a typical tourist trap beach store, moderately clean, and with nice staff. There’s a public restroom as well.
My only real problem with the store is the management of their hermit crabs. The neglect here is HORRIBLE, and absolutely inexcusable. They may just be crabs, but they’re still living and breathing animals under the care of the staff until they leave the store with someone else. There were at least 5 dead crabs in the enclosure, no water anywhere, and quite a few pieces of trash. I have no idea how often these crabs get fed, but I will say that the water dish was coated in sand and the water tower was completely empty - so I feel confident in my belief it’s been empty for some time. The treatment of these creatures here is really...
