Cute concept, popular spot, but not our coffee style

Big Pups Coffee Company is a fun little coffee truck parked outside the Dairy Queen, and it seems to be a hit—there was a steady line the whole time we were there. The vibe is great, and their attention to detail (like their super cool straws!) adds a nice touch.

We especially loved the adorable dog treat—a mini ice cream cone with whipped cream and a dog biscuit on top. Our pup was a big fan! 🐶🍦

As for the coffee, it just wasn’t for us. I’m not a regular coffee drinker (my sister says I basically order milkshakes at Starbucks), and I found mine a bit too strong and bitter, even with all the sugar. My husband thought his cold brew was just okay—he asked for a splash of cream, but it ended up a bit heavy-handed.

Overall, it was a fun one-time stop, especially for the dog experience, but probably not a place we’ll return to...

Hands down the BEST coffee in OKI!! We were in OKI for 3 weeks this summer and it was very hard to NOT go there every single day! You can tell they use quality espresso and ingredients and it's the perfect ratio in my latte! The trailer is adorable and so is their merch. The owners are truly the best part- the kindest people and a great way to start your day! They didn't have the size I needed in a sweatshirt and she even offered to ship me one. Above and beyond with their customer service AND coffee. Just another amazing reason we can't wait to go back to OKI! Thanks for making our vacation...

Coffee and dogs!? Heaven on earth!? Swung by Oak Island on an off day and needed caffeine. Google pulled up this place, immediately drawn in by the name and how each drink is named after a real life pup! It’s a little tricky to spot, but it is right next to/same lot as Dairy Queen. So basically a hidden gem ;) I tried the Apollo and yes. Just yes. Way better taste than your usual chain coffee joints, and the prices were niceeeee. I’m just sad it isn’t closer to me, but worth the short drive! So if you find yourself in OKI, make sure to swing by here! Who doesn’t like big...
