Menards — Attraction in Oak Park Heights

I recently visited this Menards location to handle returns for my husband’s contracting business, and I was completely shocked by the experience. The moment I arrived at the front customer service desk, the manager, Angelique, had a major attitude. The way she spoke to me was beyond rude — I have never been treated so poorly by any customer service worker, let alone a manager.

We are extremely loyal customers who spend a significant amount of money at Menards, but after this experience, we will not be returning to this location. I am absolutely baffled that a manager would display such unprofessional behavior. To make matters worse, another employee even said, “Oh, she’s not usually like this.” Frankly, I don’t care if she’s not usually like that — there is absolutely no excuse for treating any customer or employee that way.

Afterward, I did call and speak with the store manager, who did apologize, but honestly, this is something they should look more into if they are putting someone in a management position. Good workers may be hard to come by, but this treatment and attitude is completely unacceptable. Respect goes a long way, no matter how bad your day is going.

I popped in yesterday to grab an item and it was extremely frustrating finding help to find it. I downloaded the app to find what aisle it was on but it wouldn’t tell me and when I asked a woman she was nice but told me in vague terms and it was stud totally wrong area. The employees were talking in groups of three or four and others walked by without asking if I was finding everything ok. I tried to stop two employees to ask if I was headed in the right direction and they couldn’t be bothered. After almost 30 minutes I found a very sweet employee who took me to the item in 20 seconds. Thank goodness for her. I won’t be back to this location or any others. I’ve never even reviewed any other store of any kind less than a five but this is ridiculous. I was just looking for a turkey pan. Poor customer service all around in this location and the others I’ve been to across the MSP area. Go to target or even Wal-Mart. Much more...

I've spent tens on thousands of dollars over the last 4 years at menards today I reached my last straw with their terrible customer service. For the last year I've tried avoiding asking questions to their staff knowing I'm not going to get an answer or positive service. Today I was looking for a specific type of hanger that I could not find so I had to look for help, i asked an older gentleman where to find it, he responded "I dont know what that is" fair enough, so I pulled up a picture of the hanger and he told me "oh yeah those are outside, we sell them in 10 foot sections", I knew that wasnt right so I carried on went to the service kiosk near the hardware dept and asked another guy and a gal if they knew where I could find the hanger they literally looked at each other shrugged and went back to what they were doing like I wasnt even there.
