Since the very first day I stepped in at the WeWork Offices I could breathe a welcoming, warm and friendly environment. Joji Solenga and Erika Marquez at the front desk are 100% willing to assist you in anything you could possibly need. They greet you in the morning with a peaceful smile and that makes your day. Moreover, I can not forget to mention the special events they host for all the members. They share every Monday “morning breakfast”, so you get choose from a different variety of bagels, toasts, cereal and milk according to the day. Besides, on Thursdays, they share this lovely moment to unwind and get a chance to converse and meet other members at WeWork. Every Thursday is different, you get snacks, drinks, and there are even Thursdays that you get to watch a movie, play Nintendo or participate in any kind of integration activity. It is a lot of fun. I have found a lot of respect among the WeWork community and I am more than happy to work in one of these offices. I highly...
Read moreThis is the other Oakland Wework location (the first one I went to being the one down the street at 2201).
This one is in the fancy high rise right above the 12th street Bart station. The building has a super fancy lobby with lots of couches and seating (but no bathroom!) and a fancier clientele.
This Wework has way more private offices and fewer hot desk folks, so it's quieter. The hot desk space is mostly in one big room with long communal tables and a few booths. The kitchen is always well stocked and they have an espresso machine (a huge perk for me). There are a decent number of phone booths for private calls and a few rooms you can reserve (they keep them locked).
Note that this location is only open M-F 8am-5pm so you can't get in early or come back after hours.
The front desk staff are super friendly but overall it is a less friendly/communal vibe than the other location. I use both.... So pick which one...
Read moreBeware of WeWork. It was so difficult to cancel my membership I finally resorted to cancelling via my credit card, the only time I’ve felt the need to do so in my lifetime.
The people who work at this location (Joji was there earlier this year when I was there) are great, but they aren’t really empowered to do much regarding your membership - they just tell you to use the app. After WeWork raised prices this year, I tried to cancel. Can’t do it at the desk. There’s also no self-service cancellation; you need to contact support. Although I was told by the chat “support staff” that my membership was cancelled, surprise surprise I got a charge on my cc. I tried to raise via that same support staff, but surprise surprise I needed to go through a different billing-related support group that promised a surprise surprise 5-7 work day turnaround. Nope - I’m an entrepreneur and I don’t have time for that. WeWork - you’ve...
