I have visited and enjoyed many Caffe Bars all over the world. I like finding the one of a kind Caffe Bars that are unique individual places. I'm a fair reviewer who looks at the whole picture of the business.
The Caffe by Mr. Espresso is an hidden gem located in Oakland California. The unique design inside and out gives you a great warm feeling of comfort of a European/Italian Caffe Bar. The "Bar" concept is out of the ordinary for a Coffee house in the United States but very unique and fun. It is a place that you shouldn't be in a rush to get your beverages and pastries. The coffee they serve is very good and robust flavors.
I also ordered two pastries, which were very good and tasty but the cinnamon roll was hard and seemed like it should have been previously warmed up before serving.. The texture was extremely hard and the cinnamon taste was missing. Good with the caffe but not great.
I will definitely return to try another pastry and Coffee. This is a priceless place for everyone to enjoy. Please have patients when you try...
Read moreDid you know that Mr. Espresso has been roasting their beans over oakwood in Oakland for over 45 years and they've never opened a cafe until now? I was so excited to try The Caffe, which highlights their italian-style espresso with a modern aesthetic.
Snacks, pastries, and sandwiches are available and made all in-house along with all of their coffee accompaniments. And ricotta!
I had to try the orange creamsicle cold brew, which is a seasonal item, because I love orange and coffee so much. Love the candied orange strip placed on top of the foam, and there is tons of tasty orange zest in the drink doing its job of infusing the vanilla bean syrup. Really delicious summer treat.
Next time, though, I need to try just a basic espresso from their cafe roast line or their...
Read moreI’ve been buying their beans for a while and am glad to have a storefront now! they have a nice selection of classic espresso drinks and pourovers, plus some interesting specialty drinks. The interior is beautiful but the layout here is super odd; there is a very long counter and I didn’t know where to go to order since there was no line, just one person waiting for drinks. The staff were also not as helpful as I was hoping for - with 3 people working I was not expecting to have to wait more than a couple minutes to order, and the barista didn’t know what was used for the cold brew. It was good though. I’d have to come back a few more times before feeling good about recommending it amongst all the amazing third wave...
