Came here for the first time. The food is generally very good, but you are paying a premium for the location. As long as you are ok with that, you'll be golden and have a nice meal. It's counter service, and generally if you don't interact with the servers they don't generally go out of their way, but when we did, we found them to be very friendly. The location is very bright and airy with huge windows allowing in the daylight. They are open until 6pm most days and take advantage of the light. The ceiling does have interesting drop lights if it does get dark. They get their juice from the grove and their pastries from Lola's. They seem to partner with a few local businesses.
Spring salad 4.5 stars I liked the acidity of this salad. It's very bright and fresh. The flavors work well together. I kind of wish it came with some bread to give it more substance, but you can order pastries and such separately.
Chia pudding 5 stars This was an excellent version. The portion is small but it is delicious and presentation for the most part is excellent. They garnish usually with an edible flower.
Burger 4.25 stars Better than average burger, but at this price I have high expectations. It's 17 for just the burger. If you want to add fries or salad add another 5.
Hummus 3.75 stars Not my favorite version. Out of all the presentations this one was lacking.
Chicken schnitzel kids menu 4.25 stars The pricing on this was pretty fair. 2 big strips of chicken, that stayed warm for a long time and crispy, served with fries. At 8 it seems like one of the best deals here.
Danish 4.25 stars Honestly it's a great Danis... I'm just not really into danish
Peach burrata toast 4 stars I liked it, my partner did not. (This was a feature)
Crabby patty burger 4.5 stars Tasty version of a crab patty burger. (This was a feature)
Fig is located inside the luminarium. Parking is plentiful but at the same time can be difficult to get on the weekend as the place is flooded with...

Full review: Entrance from the museum is not intuitive where to go to order for dining in, and the barista must get confused questions a lot based on their reply to our confusion.
When I ordered "I'd like two iced vanilla lattes", staff member responded with "whole or oat milk?" then "did you want a syrup?" then "hot or iced?", obviously following the buttons on their screen and not listening.
Drinks didn't include vanilla once they arrived at the table. Took them back and asked for the vanilla to be added, to which an ungodly amount was added. Drinks were remade without a fuss.
We sat outside, were never provided water despite me asking for water during ordering and being assured it would be brought to the table. Had to ask for silverware. No plate was provided for the child in our party, nor was it offered.
Chicken schnitzel was overcooked and the meat was stringy. Otherwise the sandwich had really great flavor. It had the potential to be excellent.
Salmon toast was good though the bread was cruton level hard and there was excessive cream cheese. Again, so close to being really good.
Sweet potato bread was really interesting. Excellent crumb and texture, and I liked the toasted meringue. But something in the bread left our tongues numb and tasted a bit like cheap cinnamon candy. We were perplexed.
Such a nice location with a really nice menu, but the high end Cafe concept doesn't jive particularly well with a museum intended for children, compounded by the fact that the staff was indifferent to the needs of children.
For a $50 brunch, I was really let down. Food and drinks were off, service was poor. The execution could be so much better and this could've been one of my favorite...
Read moreI have eaten here twice. First time was great (but the food took 20 minutes to come out), and I loved the hummus bowl so much the first time that I ordered it the second time.
However, I was so unimpressed with the service this time. We came to eat at 4:20pm on a Saturday. I thought it was open until 6pm, per their advertised hours, but I was wrong. After standing at the counter for around 30 seconds while my mother read the menu, the cashier rudely interjected, “by the way, the kitchen closes in 10 minutes.” I’m not sure why that was relevant other than to imply that we needed to decide faster.
I noticed a Beer and Bratwurst soup on the specials menu, which didn’t contain any of their usual V or GF annotations for special diets. I asked if it was gluten free, to which he replied, “Ummmm, I don’t know……it maybe is a little glutenous?” What does that even mean? It either is or it isn’t. He seemed very impatient and not at all interested in taking 5 steps backward toward the kitchen to ask someone that might know. I didn’t even bother to ask any further questions. No...
