Their message to vegetarians: don't come back. In with a very large group of people with a reservation, but they didn't give us the group room so everyone was isolated into various small groups at tables. Started by asking about parking in their adjacent lot which clearly warns you must pay to park in, 24/7 or you can be towed. I parked down the street and walked. Waitress later shrugged and says no one really has to pay. So everyone there has to wonder if some lot lizard was low on cash and decided to tow their car and charge $300 to get it back. Nice vague, ill feeling to start your meal.
Asked for something vegetarian and dairy free. Most places around here serve up great black bean burgers. Maybe they decided I wanted something called 'vegan' which is a pseudo religion, and wound up googling the meaning in the kitchen. They said their bean burger was not vegan and had no suggestions for anything else that was. They said their plain spaghetti sauce was not vegan. So I asked for some plain spaghetti, no butter obviously. So out it came, the dead last order delivered- a beautiful fresh piping hot bowl of plain spaghetti. Nothing else. Not that I mind that, spaghetti is a great start, but no salad, no bread, no side of veggies, no lettuce garnish, no scoop of tomato paste, no diced tomato, no canned tomato, no canned anything, no microwaved frozen anything, no sprig of parsley, no dash of oregano, no smattering of fresh black pepper, no peppers of any kind, no splash of olive oil, no olives, no fresh mushrooms, no canned mushrooms, no slice of carrot, no wedge of lemon, no salsa, no guacamole, or any of the other probable vegetarian things they served up with other orders, and certainly no apology, because they were simply too lazy to know or check what was really vegetarian. Ever. Others at the table started passing me their salad, condiments, etc and we made an embarrassing game out it. Embarrassing for the Old Mattress Factory that is.
The bill arrives and I was charged 12 dollars for a huge bowl of spaghetti, bread, meat sauce and two massive meatballs, most of which obviously I didn't get, plus tax and mandatory 20% gratuity. I guess there is certainly no side of spaghetti available at this place.
And for a complementary moldy dessert topping they were hosting a campaign party for the local reactionary @ss hole politician Don Bacon in their private back room to protect him from harassment since he basically is so unpopular he can't go out in public downtown (dearly hoping by the time this is posted he's working one of the stupid temp jobs he brags about creating).
Wham bam thank you man. Hope to see ya...

I recently visited the Old Mattress Factory with my son before a Creighton basketball game. We ordered the smoked French Dip sandwich and the Mac n cheese.
The smoked French Dip sandwich is made with tender smoked beef and pepper jack cheese on a toasted hoagie roll. It is served with Au jus for dipping. I asked for it the Dan Martin way, which comes with caramelized onions. The sandwich was delicious, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the cheese was gooey and melted. The Au jus was rich and flavorful, and the caramelized onions added a nice sweetness to the sandwich.
The Mac n cheese is baked with a panko bread crumb buttery crust. It is creamy and cheesy, and the bread crumb topping adds a nice crunch. My son loved the Mac n cheese. He ate it all up and now this is his favorite Mac in the city.
Overall, we had a great experience at the Old Mattress Factory. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a casual meal before the...
Read moreCame into Omaha for a day trip from lincoln, we were having a great day. My daughter had heard of this place from a friend so we decided to give it a try. We got there and it was not crowded at all. It seemed like a nice place, the waiter was very friendly. We ordered an appetizer the beer cheese, it was great. Then it went downhill...my daughter ordered the pulled pork sandwich, my wife the fettuccine and I got the half slab of ribs. My daughters sandwich was full of fat and gristle, she ate half. My wife's fettuccine had absolutely no flavor at all, she only ate a couple of bites. Now for my dinner, I got the ribs, the first rib I cut and the meat fell off the bone, I was thinking great until I cut into the second rib IT WAS COLD, not warm, not cool but downright cold. I cut into the middle of the ribs and it was almost frozen. I asked the waiter over and he said sorry, and took it away. 30 minutes later he brought another rack, they were extremely hot. I started eating them and knew right away they had been microwaved, the good thing was they were hot the bad was they were dry and tough. The waiter did give me a coupon for a free appetizer on my next visit, I asked if I could use it on this meal since the food was terrible, but was told NO. So to sum it up I spent 65.00 for a terrible meal make it 75.00 since I did tip 10.00. I just wish it was handled better. I will not reccomend this establishment to anyone and definitely will...
