Buyer beware there is a NO refund policy and the box office staff is not helpful. The Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard is in full effect at this theater. If you buy tickets early you will see the same show as those who wait until the last minute to purchase their tickets but you'll pay a heck of a lot more. I purchased tickets at $35 each (plus $4 per ticket handling fee) for myself and my kids to see a show at this venue. At the time I purchased tickets there were no student tickets available/offered online. I received an email stating that student tickets are available for $10. I called to ask that they reissue student tickets but they will not issue a refund for the adult tickets I purchased for students. I did leave a message asking for the box office manager to call me back but my call was not returned.
I do realize this is not the only theater that has policies like this. Buy a full price ticket at Tuacahn and you'll find out once on their mailing list they offer deals all the time and there are no refunds. However since shows are not selling out at this venue my recommendation is to wait to purchase!
Also this is the 2nd show in a row where this venue is trying to fill unsold seats with a BOGO offer that comes out at the time the performance starts.
Seriously be like those workers who waited until the final hour of the day. Your reward will be the same (a great show) but you'll pay a lot less!
This review has nothing to do with the quality of shows - it is a reflection on the box office and marketing policies...
Read moreI've seen 3 plays here in this theater. Loved them all. All were put on by youth, perhaps as community education, I don't know. But this smaller theater is a good platform for the level of production. Each play had different stage design and seating layouts. One play, the seating was arranged that it put the audience in the experience, kinda like theater-in-the-surround. (Mama Tomcat's School of Flying. If you wanted to know, and the most enchanting of the plays I've seen here.) The last play I saw on Friday the 15th, the Tomato Plant Girl, which is what google is asking my review for now. As stated, I think this theater provides a great platform for these youth plays, and I like the interactivity with the audience the closeness provides. The actresses were able to create an interactive conversation that made the audience an actor in the play. Something that a bigger theater, with a fixed seating arrangement can't create, because there's a level of detachment. One reviewer complained about the smaller seats, yeah, maybe they aren't recliner seating, but seriously, quit with the whining, and enjoy being a part...
Read moreThe building and interior has such great potential. However, the seating may or may not have the view blocked. I attended a play and the view from my seats were blocked to the point where we could not enjoy the play or follow the story. No warning was given before or after the tickets were purchased. We were all so disappointed. I hesitate to purchase any tickets for any venue. UPDATE: After a response was posted today (took a year?), I realized I did not explain the situation well enough. There were NO obstructions. The stage and play was built to face the right balcony where one man occupied it the whole evening. We were on the left balcony. Because of the way the stage and play was oriented, the action of the players were under our balcony and impossible to see unless we hung on the balcony's railing to see part of the action. The ushers were well aware of the situation. Our tickets were non-refundable and the evening was sold out. We could either stay and listen to the play or leave. This was not the only time this happened.
Purchase tickets at your own risk. My "one star"...
