Don’t waste your time, especially when MY PAWNSHOP (that’s the name) is right down the road on the same side of yonge… i wish i had known sooner myself because i was being loyal to a shop that was not only ripping me off, but wasting my time inspecting everything (to try and low ball you) just to not even end up buying it… they have an incompetent woman working there that has NO idea what she’s doing and will make you stand there for hours while she inspects the items that she doesn’t even understand herself. and it’s obvious that what she’s doing is trying to figure out anything and everything she can to low ball the price. i was waiting for her to get a magnifying glass out HAHAHA. i’m also pretty sure the outlet they have to test electronics on is faulty too, because we sat there for an hour with my switch on the charger while she “inspected it”… with no regard to the customer’s time or anything, she took her time trying to act like she knew what she was doing while making nasty faces as if it wasn’t working properly (NEVER had issues with the switch ever) so instead of being accommodating or trying another outlet and listening when i said i had never had issues with it… she told me to bring it back in and passed on the VR headset i had as well. i told her i’d be going down the street instead and thank goodness i did! because MY PAWNSHOP plugged it in, and battery jumped right to 8 percent! the funny thing is that i had sold my switch controllers to CROWN (same woman, same long drawn out process too) a month prior because i couldn’t find the screen after we had moved… but ofc i ended up finding it so i brought it back in to her, assuming they would want to sell a whole switch console instead of just the controllers alone… but nope… she was so incompetent she turned that AND a VR oculus down… (the same VR i had pawned there before too! but didn’t deal with her that time)

anyway, MY PAWNSHOP was such a relief that day!! dealt with an awesome employee that was quick and accommodating, no bs! and the owner came out as well, and was very pleasant and i was SHOCKED at the price they gave me after dealing with the prices CROWN had given me in the past… MY PAWN was SO kind, understanding of the customers time, and accommodating for the customers item price!! MY PAWN purchased them both! they didn’t rip me off on the price like CROWN did… i will never go back to CROWN. ever. and here is your warning to never go either… trust me. :)

If you want a face full of condescending arrogance. Talk to the owner... 2022 July 28th Amendment after response from owner: How delightful it is to have my statement supported and reinforced by a response from the owner himself. What he says is true... it was a unique request, but certainly regular business for True Professional Brokers.

I've had residence in Ormond for over 40 years and no less than 15 shops in the area deal with this item on the regular. But they are all walk in based as people prefer to be hands on with such items.

The virus has put everyone at a distance... and for me... overseas at the time... leading me to seek a Broker in my home town (incidentally where the item was located). I felt the seller would be under more pressure to be honest when dealing with a local broker...

So, I'll give the owner credit for accuracy here...

Still, In the latter half of his own writing (seen here): The idea that any one person speaks on behalf of the world... or that he in any way knows my motivations or affiliations: is certainly arrogant(as demonstrated in his own words here).

A more professional response would have been something along the lines of: "I'm sorry but my business does not deal in that particular segment of the market, is there anything else I can help you with?"

It could have politely ended there...

Yet the owner ceased the opportunity to Verbally Kick me in the Face... condescending from a mountain of arrogance exceeding the aspirational heights of The Tower of Babel to: Teach Me A Lesson.!

And, He did teach me 1 thing... I thought I had seen the height of arrogance... I was WRONG. Henceforth I shall endeavor to ascend to his Godly Realm in the sky, more splendid than the span of The Great Seal of The Realm and all the riches and dreams of Avarice... to receive my Punishment and Damnation Personally from this... God of a Man - Pawn Broker...

The Bottom line is... He owns a pawn shop in Daytona beach while fancying himself a King and Lord Marshall of Moral...

Forget the stereotypical vision you have for Pawn shops when you enter the door at Crown. From the well dressed staff, the cleanliness, the selection, the layout, did I mention the staff? When I was in last week they had atleast 5 very knowledgeable employees working the floor. Seems each one had their own area of expertise. I have been in many pawnshops due to my business backround and having this many employees (specialists) on the floor is rare. They helped me when I needed help, and let me shop when I wanted to shop. I bought some machining measurement tools I had been looking for. Great price! While I was browsing I watched 2 or 3 people come in to sell items. A surfboard, a sword, and I can't remember the other. But I do remember hearing each of them say "thanks, thats a good price". So if your looking for surfboards to metal detectors to rare coins to a beautiful engagement ring, don't hesitate to stop in Crowns. And if you have never been in a pawnshop, stop once and you will become a regular. I know I have and will stop in everytime I travel to the area to look for that...
