Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois — Attraction in Ottawa

On Sunday I had an employee named Gwen be very rude to me. When the 15 minute announcement came over the speaker I started walking from the back t shirt wall to the front. On my way I saw something that caught my eye two isles from the register and stopped to look at it. With what had to be still 12 minutes left til close Gwen very rudely yells from behind me "THE STORE CLOSES IN 15 MINUTES." I told her I'm on my way to the register right now. She then follows behind me and asks "are you going to buy those things?" And when I tell her "yes" very confused in my head because why would I not be if I'm walking with them in my hand to the register? She asks "are you sure?" very snarky. I have worked in retail and completely understand the feeling of closing soon and wanting to leave on time. I've worked places that people allowed to stay 30 minutes past closing announcement to finish their shopping before we could say anything, and then had to clean the entire store once they were finally done. Ive never been ignorant to a paying customer nearly 15 minutes before close. I felt very uncomfortable and unhappy with my experience which is unfortunate because I shop there often and have never had someone treat me that way. I will be driving to Peru for my goodwill...

Accidently bought some movies that my brother already had.I had trouble with an employee, who said you can only exchange for other movies, I said I don't want other movies, then she said I could get housewares too, I said I wanna see your manager, she went back, and said I could have store credit only for anything.I wanted my money back, as this was my brothers birthday present, and they wouldn't give it back to me. This is my local go-to goodwill when I have the spending money. I haven't been here in awhile but when I have, service was good, lots to look at and building overall well kept. I usually come here when looking for clothes for my daughter, they have a great selection of kids clothes. I like to take my daughter here too when they bring out the halloween costumes/items, we made up her costume a year ago from goodwill stuff and she loved it.
