My wife and I saw Star Wars in the Movie Parlor theater. It was the worst movie viewing experience we have ever had. It was ruined by terrible service, a poorly designed theater configuration and sound issues. They were slow to take our food/drink order, brought food about 10 min before drinks and didn't bring a straw for my wife's soda until after she asked a second time. She should not have had to ask for a straw even once. The cheese dip provided with the pretzel sticks was an abomination. We were seated in row D, which was the only row without a convenient place to put food and drink, and it was the only row without a foot rest. I thought the seats were OK, but my wife was unable to find a comfortable position. The entrance to the theater was on the end of row D and let a substantial amount of light into the small theater every time the door was opened. The worst issue of all: The volume was so low that we missed parts of the dialogue due to typical viewer generated noise (paper rustling, munching, coughing, etc.). Why in the world would you line trays with noisy paper in a movie theater?

This is not a movie going "experience". The film and sound quality is fine, but compared to The Alamo, or even your local AMC, this place is a bust. We walked right in with no greetings or funneling, kind of wandered around for a good ten minutes looking for our party. I finally asked. We could have easily slipped in to any theatre with no issue. The decor is straight out of Tron (the first one) but lacks the kitschy vibe. The downstairs is blue and the upstairs is red. Neat. One chair would not recline, the other would not retract. Straddling my seat in a dress was not in my plan, so wear pants. The service in house was not great, with no light in some areas to easily see the very large menu. We used our flashlight. The waiter did not take my order until after previews, and then I was told my food was not available. On a diabetic diet with no way to choose another item, I asked for a salad - which I picked at in the dark. It was fine. Meh. Not the best date night. Good movie, though! Go somewhere else.

Seriously, this guy was snoring as soon as the movie started AND THAT WAS AFTER THEY HAD TO ASK HIM TO VACATE OUR RESERVED SEAT. There was literally an entire meal dumped on the floor in front of our reserved seating, at showtime, that they had to clean up before we could even sit down. It was all over the seat and the floor. Not cool. I don't know when that food was spilled, but really?! Either they didn't notice that someone had spilled their ENTIRE entree on the floor, or they failed to clean up after the previous movie. Is this the ghetto?! While I appreciate that the manager took care of the situation, I was not expecting this from Leawood. I've posted a pic of the guy, so if he's sitting by you, know there will be a problem. The photos of the food are AFTER they "cleaned up" as we didn't order any food. Those receipts, trash and smashed French fries didn't belong to us.

On my most recent visit to the AMC DINE-IN Prairiefire 17 movie theater, I was excited to see the latest installment of the John Wick series, starring the ever-talented Keanu Reeves. However, my excitement was dampened when I found out that the kitchen had already closed before my movie time, leaving me with a rumbling stomach and the heartbreak of missing out on a delicious meal while watching the heart-pumping action on the big screen.

As Nicole Kidman says in the previews before the cinematic adventure begins, "heartbreak feels good in place like this", but experiencing it due to an empty stomach is definitely not one of them.

The AMC DINE-IN Prairiefire 17 movie theater in Overland Park, Kansas is a great spot for a night out. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the theater offers a unique dine-in experience that allows you to enjoy a meal while watching your favorite movie. However, on my most recent visit, I was disappointed to find out that the kitchen had closed before my movie time, even though I had purchased tickets for the dine-in theater experience.

Despite the kitchen mishap, the staff at the AMC DINE-IN Prairiefire 17 movie theater is top-notch. From the moment you enter the theater, you are greeted by friendly faces who are more than happy to help you find your way around. They are knowledgeable about the latest releases and can offer recommendations if you're unsure what movie to see.

The theater itself is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating options to choose from. The dine-in experience is unique and enjoyable, with a variety of food and drink options available for purchase. The menu features classic movie theater snacks like popcorn and candy, as well as more substantial options like burgers, sandwiches, and salads.

However, on my most recent visit, I was disappointed to find out that the kitchen had already closed before my movie time. While I was still able to enjoy the movie, I was left with an empty stomach and a feeling of disappointment. If the kitchen is closed, I believe that the theater should not advertise the dine-in experience for that particular showing.

That being said, I think that the dine-in experience is a great addition to the movie theater experience. It allows you to enjoy a meal while watching your favorite movie, which can make for a more relaxing and enjoyable night out. I would just caution moviegoers to double-check the kitchen hours before purchasing tickets for the dine-in theater experience.

In addition to the dine-in experience, the theater also offers a variety of other amenities. The seats are comfortable and spacious, and the theater offers both traditional and reclining options. The sound and picture quality are also excellent, which can make for a more immersive movie-watching experience.

Overall, I would highly recommend the AMC DINE-IN Prairiefire 17 movie theater in Overland Park, Kansas. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the theater offers a unique dine-in experience that can be enjoyed by movie lovers of all ages. While the kitchen mishap was disappointing, it does not detract from the overall quality of the theater experience.

Also my seats were mismatched and found it hard to get comfortable with my date. I didn't have foot rests like the rest of the...

I have had 2 good experiences and 2 bad ones. By far the worst was the most recent experience.

I brought my elderly, walker-bound friend to The Theory of Everything on a weekday afternoon. There were only 4 people, including us, in the theater. The server was very friendly, when he took our orders. He brought our (overly expensive, but yummy) drinks back quickly. That was the end of our good experience.

After the previews, the movie screen went black and stayed black. 15 minutes after the movie should have started, the server came back and asked if the screen had been that way for a while. We told him yes. He said he would notify someone and have it taken care of, and that's the last time we saw him.

NO ONE returned with an explanation, and the screen stayed black. 20 minutes after the movie should have started, one of the other patrons stood up and went to get help, and returned. 10 minutes later, (30 minutes after the movie should have started), he and his companion left.

My companion and I had nothing better to do, and it's a huge ordeal to get her in and out of the theater with her health and her walker, so we stayed until it was 35 minutes after the movie should have started, and finally we got up to leave. As we were leaving, we saw a manager for the FIRST time who offered NO APOLOGY, but said he would have the movie started in about 30 seconds. So we sat back down. 40 minutes after the movie should have started, it did indeed finally start, but we were left to sit there with ZERO acknowledgement of our presence for 40 full minutes. Would we have been left to sit there for the whole time w/o anyone noticing there was no movie being projected?

We only sat there for as long as we did due to the difficulty of moving my friend, and the fact that the other patron had gone to get help, so we assumed some action was being taken. The lack of apologies is literally unforgivable.

Before we even reached the specific theater within the facility, we stood in front of the ticket taker while she was talking to another employee. We waited patiently for them to finish talking, thinking that it was company business, and then I realized they were just chatting as friends while leaving us to stand there waiting to have our ticket torn in two and told which theater to enter. So, I interrupted them. I chalked it up to youth. Now I know that the VERY bad customer service starts at the top (with the manager brushing by us w/ an excuse, but no apology) and trickles down.

It's like they don't care. What a shame because it's a beautiful theater that is close to my elderly companion's home. I may give it one more chance, but the three strikes rule...

Horrible. NEVER AGAIN STAY AWAY! Where to start! The GM should be fired, the assistant managers should be fired, and from our experience, most the the employees. You walk in with questions, but the hostess stand is empty, because young teens with attitudes are hiding behind the soda stands gossiping, and flashing dirty looks to you, and rolling their eyes when you ask for help and point to to self-serve ticket machines that don't work, don't print, so then they tell you to go to the Box Office, where again no one is there because they went to the bathroom without telling anyone, or are flirting/gossiping also behind the soda stand over at Concessions, and act resentful that you're making them walk over to do their job. The so-called "bartenders" are so slow, you'll miss your movie if you wait for them, as they can't mix drinks, and don't know how to work the computer, either old flakes with Alzheimers, or the only assistant mgrs over 21 who are allowed to serve alcohol, and are faking it. It's filthy. Saw a black bug crawling at Concessions -- roach, beetle, cricket, I didn't get close enough to see, but the staff wasn't keeping the place clean. The popcorn was burnt and too salty, the "gourmet" popcorn was stale, the soda from the selfserve Coke machines tastes nasty, the food from the kithchen was old, cold, hard, they didn't get our order right, failed to deliver it to us, left it on a shelf at concessions, and made us miss part of the movie to try to fix it, but incompetency from everyone involved made it impossible to get right. Trying to get a refund, we waited 10 minutes for someone with authority and security on the computer to do so, but no one showed, so we were just out of luck, out of time, and gave up on them. The seats in our theater were ratty old furniture with no reclining, no arm rests, or foot rests, the most uncomfortable I've ever been in a theater. Trying to get refunds, the worker couldn't figure out the computer, saying it was our fault the way we paid, and again expected us to wait another eternity for someone who didn't show, and obviously didn't care. How does AMC justify a theater being run like this? Heads would roll in my company if they treated customers this way! They are in desperate need of new management with the intelligence to figure out how to fix the problems at hand, and the common sense to focus on the bigger picture. Whoever's in charge is obviously lacking the commitment to run it right, and can't see the forest...
