TIVOL — Attraction in Overland Park

We purchased rings from Tivol, Hawthorne Plaza in the 1990s. We have lived all over the US and worked with a variety of highly reputable jewelers but when we wanted to purchase a special pair of earrings in memory of my mother, with aquamarines -her birthstone- we decided to go back to Tivol, despite our living in a distant state. We worked with Denise long-distance through the Covid-19 sheltering to determine our options and eventually decided that having the earrings custom made was the best approach. It was a fairly tedious decision-making process but Denise never wavered as she helped us select the stones and the best setting, exchanging multiple photographs, emails, videos and text messages. At no point did we ever feel rushed or pressured to spend more than what we were comfortable with. While Denise never encouraged us in any particular direction, when asked, she provided good descriptions and facts to help us decide for ourselves. And when the earrings arrived, a day earlier than I had asked, they were far more beautiful than we had expected. In fact, they are so beautiful that my husband laughed when he first saw them because he was just blown away. And they hang perfectly on my ears. Our decision to return to Tivol to find the perfect earrings was based on how my husband remembered being treated when he bought the first ring 25 years ago and how much I still love that ring. Heather helped my husband and I find the most special ring to upgrade my original engagement ring and wedding band! Not only was the quality of all the pieces exceptional, the service that Heather provided was top notch.

One of the things I typically dislike about going into a nice jewelry store is feeling like I’m either being judged for looking at more minimal pieces (vs the more extravagant ones) or feeling pressured to buy something or spend more than my budget. From the very first interaction, Heather was completely empathetic, answering all of my questions and freely offering information about carat weight and price that I’m usually embarrassed to ask about. After our first visit, Heather took down our information and what we were interested in, but she didn’t call to pressure us into a decision. When we finally decided which piece we were wanting to purchase, Heather went to bat helping us get the price reduced slightly, which we appreciated but certainly didn’t expect.

Since our purchase, Heather has remained In regular contact over text on her personal number, letting me know about upcoming trunk shows or sales and reminding me to come in and get my new ring cleaned. I was able to get a custom ring fully redone with the help of Camilla! My boyfriend and I had been helped my her before to look at engagement rings for the first time. Our experience with her left a really positive impression so I came back for my custom ring. She did a wonderful job with understanding my vision. Through the process, she explained to me what would be done, the estimated time frame, and provided me updates. It all came together very easily and I'm so pleased with how the ring turned out!!

For my girlies wanting to be a fiancée - your partner (and/or you) will be in good hands with Camilla! She is incredibly knowledgeable of the industry. During our bridal session together, she took the time getting to know what I was interested in, if and what I have been able to look at before, and guided us with all the miscellaneous terminology that we weren't super familiar with. It made the already overwhelming process so much more approachable and put us at ease. When it came to trying on rings available in the current showcasing, she made good notes for my likes and dislikes. We even explored band options for my boyfriend!
