This place did not live up to our expectations but was ok. The menu is misleading. The dessert pizza is listed as “dessert pizza: (strawberries, mango, pineapple),” so one would safely assume that you receive all three fruits; however, that’s not the case. Instead, you pick one fruit and there’s an upcharge for additional fruit - which the upcharge is not listed either. Honestly, we wouldn’t have hesitated to pay extra to add on pineapple but since we were only informed of this as we were ordering, we didn’t have time to discuss what other toppings we wanted on the dessert pizza. They should change the menu to reflect “choose from one of the following” or some other verbiage to not be so misleading. Other than the false advertising, the dessert pizza was incredible. In fact, we are still talking about it nearly 4 hours later. The pizza was very doughy and didn’t represent a consistent brick-oven style that pizza lovers have come to know. We ordered our pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. The consistency was as if they just rolled the dough and warmed it up. With this being said, the toppings were fresh and the sauce was flavorful. The garlic knots are a slam dunk and came with both marinara and cheese sauce. Ambiance: while the restaurant has a comfortable and relaxing vibe and the employees were all welcoming, the kitchen adjoins the dining room. While this concept works for other brick oven pizza restaurants such as Grimaldi’s, the topic of conversation was really annoying. (Employees complaining about their shifts, complaining about not being able to smoke their cigarettes outside due to the rain, etc). It should also be noted that our waitress was amazing. A very bright and positive attitude and she was observant to filling our refills.
I feel that if the crust was cooked more thoroughly and if the menu was not misleading, this place would have been a slam dunk and a place to look forward to visiting when traveling through this area of the country. This place has a lot of potential but just needs a little work. The dessert pizza and appetizers are a must (even with their very misleading explanation...
Read moreTo start off we had a dinner 23 teenage girls in the upper room. The room charge was $50 so we decided to split in among all of us since it would only be $2 per person. We ordered 6 large pizzas, 6 garlic knots (but only should’ve paid for 5 because we had a gift card for a free one), 17 sodas, and 6 waters. Side note: we’re catholic and our waitress was laughing at us while praying over our food. She was rude to people who asked for refills too. When we got our checks we were immediately skeptical because the total for all 23 of us was $522. Our individual checks were either $19 (for the people who got waters) or $23 (for the people who got sodas) and that was supposedly with the gratuity included and the room fee included. When we were discussing how we thought the bills were wrong the waitress “assured” us that they were right. We then asked for a detailed receipt of the total bill and she got an attitude and told us to follow her to the manager. The manager told us that since they already spilt to total bill into individual bills they couldn’t give us the total bill but she could print everyone’s bills and add them up. This took the manager and the owner about 30 minutes of basically just stalling because I think they knew they were screwed and we knew that we were right. They also tried to tell us it was because they added a couple extra garlic knots and it was a glitch in the system but the garlic knots were $5 so that made no sense either. We ended up getting $180 back in cash for the overcharge but the moral of the story is DO NOT GO TO FETTA OWENSBORO THEY...
Read moreWe enjoyed our time at Fetta today. The shop is narrow but seats tables of two or four. We sat toward the back of the restaurant. My spouse and I decided to get four different slices at $3.50 each. For the size, toppings, and quality, I thought the price was good. We choose the pulled pork, Smothers pizza, Kentucky Hot Brown, and mashed potato/bacon/scallion. Our server was kind enough to suggest each pizza to be split in half so we could try each other's choices.
We both through the mashed potato pizza was delicious as well as the Smothers. You could tell the meat was really of quality and not cheap, fatty bacon. The Kentucky HB was ok--not bad but not outstanding. It needed something to make it stand out more in my opinion. The last "place" was the pulled pork which also had pickles and (heavy) onion on it.
The pizzas are pre-made and then reheated to come out so the wait time was hardly anything. Waitress was accommodating to our refills and requests early on but disappeared on us for about 10 minutes before we left. She was probably on break but we were ready to go/needing refills. Table behind us must have had a worker, off the clock, dining in and she actually got up, filled our drinks, and notified waitress.
My one critique would be the open air pizza, by the door, that had invited a fly to feast.
We plan on returning on a Saturday to try a...
