Overall, my stay here was great!! I was initially here at this hotel because of my martial arts competition in this hotel was right across the street from the Owensboro Kentucky convention center which is where my martial arts competition was being held. It was great because it was right across the street and easy to get to. I met a lovely lady named Barbara, she was so sweet. The instant she saw me she started asking about martial arts and started talking to me about her grandson and his martial arts. And while we were talking she got me coffee and made sure that I had everything I needed and that everything I had was excellent. The employees at burger theory were very sweet as well when I asked for my food and so on they were quick to get it and even with it being quick, it was still warm and tasted really good. I appreciated their quickness as it allowed me to make the black belt meeting that I had that morning very quickly. So that was very much appreciated. However, when it came to the pool we were left not so pleased. There was a lady/babysitter who was watching at least 6 or 7 kids. She was laying back with her ear buds in while allowing her kids to dive into the pool over my friends and I. She allowed them to be screaming at the top of their lungs and the sound of the screaming was echoing throughout the pool area which made things worse so my lady and I headed up to the room and left the pool very unpleased as I was trying to relax and clear my head the night before my competition. That didn’t happen, so we left while our friends stayed behind for a little bit as one of our friends was injured and the cool water was helping reduce the pain of their injured ankle. What I wasn’t pleased to hear is that when they were trying to leave the pool the kids who were there were still jumping over them and knocking into them when they were trying to leave and get out of the pool. That I was not...
Read moreI paid for the room in advance which included breakfast (extra). At check in was not given the cards to show I had already paid for breakfast which I was unaware I had to have. I squared that away myself the next AM when we went to eat breakfast and was about to pay twice, but an inconvenience I shouldn’t have had to deal with. During my evening, came in hotel late from a day of activities, asked how long restaurant is open, was told 11PM. Went to room showered and headed back down. My son and I sat at a table close to bar area at 10:20PM and was seen by the bar tender, but ignored for 10 minutes. When she finally came to the table we asked to order food and she told us it was too late we could just order an appetizer only as they are closing… long story short. I went to the front desk complaining that they need to get their stories on the same page. Either you are open to serve until 11 or you aren’t. I understand last minute and I personally do not like to do that to people as they want to get home too but it was 10:20… We had already headed outside and was on our way to another establishment to eat when the front desk lady ran out after us. We were trying to spend our money there, as we was tired and ready for food and bed. Food director for hotel was still there on-site. She had us come in, sit wherever we wanted, took our order, plus made our food! Food was quite good and she comped our meal! She made it right but it was an ordeal. With that said, we were still finished with our meal at 11:00 PM. Like I say, food director made it right and she was super friendly. Much more than I can say from our sour bar tender! Lastly our room, it smelled really good when we entered was the first thing I noticed. Room was clean, bathtub not so much. Hotel wasn’t bad, but experience could have been much better & no reason it shouldn’t have been. In turn,...
Read moreWorst day ever. Never staying here again. When I reserved my stay I told them I had my 2 service dogs with me and they had no problem. They gave me a tiny room so I had no place to put the dog crates but in the balcony which I hate because it was cold outside. Anyway, when I checked in on Sunday I was by myself, this matters because Monday at 5 pm I was taking a nap and some guy opened my door. My dogs were not in the crates because I only use them if I have to go have dinner or something fast. My protection dog almost attacked the guy. I felt bad because I used to work in a hotel and sometimes that stuff happens but I was pissed because they knew I had my dog and that could have been very bad. I went to the front desk and they told me that guy said that he forgot his room key, gave my room number and my husbands information, so they didn’t asked for an id and gave him a room key. Then they tried to change my room for “safety purposes” but obviously I didn’t care about that. It doesn’t matter about the room, I wasn’t feeling safe anymore, they cancelled all the room keys and gave me new ones. Told them if she did that again my dog would take care of them. I left to have dinner and when I came back the same lady told me that my dogs were barking in the balcony, that they needed to go to my room asap because they were disturbing people. I totally understand that and I obviously wanted to leave because I wasn’t safe. I started to put everything in my car so I could leave as early as possible the next morning. Same thing happened at 2 am, somebody tried to open my door again. Somebody tried to kidnap me because they thought I was by myself? They tried again because they thought I’ll put my dogs in the crates to go to sleep? I don’t know. Never...
