Putnam Lanes — Attraction in Palatka

2.5 stars The place itself wasn't too bad, it was clean, big, the gameroom wasn't working but that wasn't a big deal.. I don't think the a/c was on, they had some fans going, but that wasn't bad, just a little warm... HOWEVER it was very awkward with one of thier staff members, he was very off putting. He didn't seem to want to talk to us to get things setup, and then within minutes of our game ending we stood around making sure it was over because one lane was still lit up and they came and started putting away our bowling balls, sweeping around us as we talked and just stared at us like we were in the way and kinda rudely told us that our time was up. We didn't even have our shoes off yet... then as we were changing our shoes and finishing the pitcher of soda as we regroup, the speaker cranked up so loud we couldn't even talk to each other. There was only one other lane going and no one waiting for lanes so I don't really understand the rush, kinda seemed like we were being shooed out... just felt awkward and unwanted. Very disappointed, Brandon manager on duty, what a team of people working the shift Jan 6 ,9-11pm, spent two hours and place was nasty and food was disgusting something is wrong with that pizza("not bowling alley food") as Brandon says and the bathrooms, comments when I waited over hr to use bathroom as I was going in and the girl cleaning had to make a comment about( "hope its clean enough"), nasty hope someone doesn't caught anything from there will not be taking my family there again, no care about one issue, I have never been to a bowling alley ever that bad, it's one thing to operate a run down bowling alley with messed up shoes, balls and dirty lanes. We went and go bowling using the kids bowl free coupons which is a nice thing for people to be able to do with kids during the summer. While at the bowling alley the manager was very rude and short. They now hold a policy that states u have to be 8 or younger to use the green size 6 bowling ball or even bumpers. This is crazy when you have a kid that is 9 or 10 and weighs less than 50lbs. They expected her to use a size 8 ball that weighed more than she did. I feel if you are gonna offer a service you should be allowed to use all balls in the building. There is no cheater rolling rack for kids to use to help with the weight. Kids that are younger don’t get to have fun because they don’t help the smaller kids who are older. People are asking for a lot but a little compassion for kids who can’t throw heavier balls...
