Tucked in to the eastern end of the PGA Plaza (a/k/a the Trader Joe’s plaza on PGA Boulevard) is a gem of a specialty massage spa. Here, at Dragon Foot Spa and Massage, you can enjoy a nice, traditional massage in a private room or a foot reflexology service.
If you want a quick bit of stress relief, the spa offers a couple of 30-minute back and shoulder massage options. It’s $50 for this basic massage, which includes heated pads and hot stones; $55 when you add an essential oil; and $58 with the addition of a firming cream.
Better yet are the spa’s array of 60-, 80-, 90- and 110-minute full body massages with your choice of style or pressure (Swedish, Medium Pressure, Deep Tissue), essential oils, hot stones, an exfoliating scrub, or even a slimming or firming cream! Depending on the length of time and the specific combination of services you choose, prices for a full body massage range from $70 to $158.
Or you can relax fully-clothed in one of the spa’s comfortable specially-designed chairs to enjoy one of the spa’s signature foot reflexology and massage packages. These come in your choice of 30-, 60- and 90-minute services to which you can add a salt or sugar exfoliating foot scrub ($7) or a 30-minute detoxifying ionic cleanse foot bath ($35).
Yes, I know, scientific studies have dismissed the efficacy of these ionic detox baths. Still, it is interesting to see that the water does change color, with the different colors believed to correspond to your overall wellness and indicate the health of different organs.
I have always found Dragon Foot Spa to be clean and safe, and the staff courteous and professional. Upon selecting the service you want, you are led into a quiet, darkened area - either to your private room for a full body massage, or a more open area with chairs for reflexology.
Staff will direct you where to hang your clothes for a massage, and whether to lie face up or down to start your service. A modesty cover is provided, and you’ll get a few minutes to disrobe and get comfortable on the massage table.
For reflexology services, you will be seated on a low, wide chair after removing your shoes. Staff will help you to lie back, tuck you under a cosy throw, and bring a bucket of warm water for your feet.
Your massage provider may start with a head and scalp massage or a neck and shoulder massage as you relax and soak your feet. He or she will work your arms and hands, then dry your feet and place them on a comfortable footrest. A light cloth will be placed over your eyes for better relaxation and no distractions from the soft lights and the quiet movements of staff.
Most of the reflexology services are performed while you are face up. Toward the end of the service, you’ll be asked to roll over - there’s an open place, padded on the sides, in the chair. Face downward through that opening, and you’ll be in an ideal position to allow a back massage over your clothes. When your service provider presses down and holds that position, try taking a deep breath and whooshing it out - it helps to get a better release of tension in your back and hips.
The reflexology packages seem perfect for someone who is new to massage, is not comfortable disrobing outside their own home, or who may not like, say, the areas between their upper chest and upper thighs touched. For example, I really don’t like my belly massaged, so this aligns perfectly with what I want (and don’t want) in a massage. Most massage spas are respectful of these areas (or ask permission before touching), but the reflexology packages at Dragon Foot Spa avoid those concerns all together.
Given the time and money to indulge myself, I do prefer a full body massage with fragrant oils and lotions. But remaining clothed and receiving a reflexology service leaves me relaxed yet energized with the time and desire to, say, go shopping, instead of heading home for a nap!
If it happens to be your birthday, Dragon Foot Spa and Massage may even have a free glass of wine to help you to relax and add to...

I went in for a scalp treatment and head massage, but what I got was a nightmare. The technician scratched at my scalp repeatedly with her nails, using no variation in technique. She didn’t brush my hair before washing, which led to a massive, tangled knot that she never addressed.
Things got worse when she put a plastic steaming device on my head—it burned my scalp and hair, and I could literally smell my hair burning. When I asked her to remove it, she ignored me.
To finish, she took out a blow dryer and started drying the tangled, burnt mess without attempting to detangle it. I asked for a brush, but she didn’t understand and kept rudely insisting on blow-drying. At that point, I just wanted to leave. I was nearly in tears, thinking I’d have to cut inches off my hair.
I got home and lost so much hair from this experience. There is no way this person is licensed or experienced—this was reckless and dangerous. Do not risk your hair...
Read moreWow, I had a stressful week after traveling for work, layovers, cancelled flights and audits to work on with short deadlines. I looked up Dragon Spa and I was incredibly impressed with their service. My masseur was AMAZING! He knew how to fix my back, focused on my shoulders, used hot stones and the oil he used was top quality. He was so polite and professional, the music wasn’t loud and the place was really quiet. I will be returning to the Dragon Spa soon, if I could give 10 stars I would! The place is clean, spacious, has the perfect lighting, the staff are kind and even follow up with you after your massage to see how you’re feeling! Thank you Dragon Spa! I will...
