I don’t write reviews often, but I feel the need to warn others about buying anything at this store. My daughter picked this place. She paid the $25 fee to go. “look at dresses“ which when I heard that I was completely appalled. You are a dress shop, why would we need to pay to look at dresses. But we went and it went downhill from there. The lady that assisted us with looking for dresses was completely rude and very pushy. She brought several dresses out, but seemed irritated that she didn’t just pick one quickly. The dress was nearly $3000 and don’t get me wrong- It is a beautiful dress but I have seen many dresses for way less with the same style. This was on January 13, the lady seemed also irritated that we needed it by September and made us feel Bad for not shopping months ago. But said it should be here in July. My daughter started calling to check when the dress would be in mid July. The dress was paid in full on March 13. They gave her the runaround on the phone and basically said someone will call her back. She waited several days nobody called back. She called again and the person answering the phone stated she didn’t know and someone would call her back. July 20 she finally spoke to someone and they said it’s not in yet and they would contact the manufacturer. On August 2, still no updates from the shop regarding the dress arrival. On August 3 my daughter calls again and they claim that the manufacturer said they are waiting for a piece of lace also inform us that it’s being shipped overseas so It will probably be here right before the wedding per the manager. Their communication is the worst. Getting married is stressful enough without this lack of updates. on August 15 they finally called her and let her know the dress is complete and being shipped. on August 21 dress arrived at the shop, but I had to make an appointment to go pick it up “inspection” appointment for August 26. I go for the inspection not that anything could be done now if anything is wrong as the contract states no refunds on any purchases under any circumstances. All sales are final. I asked her what designer made the dress. She states it is their own designer, I said, where does it state the designer name because the receipt says Sophia Thomas designs, the outside tag has no name on it just a size 8 and a SKU number. So we open inside dress to look for a label as most designers have a label on it and there is no label. I found this extremely odd! We zipped up the bag and I took the dress home. When I got home, I was looking at the dress again and found a small tag inside with 100% polyester on it-Like you would see in a shirt from Walmart and a small tag that says 10. Receipts says size 8 outside tag on the dress says size 8 inside says 10. Again all sales are final! Terrible...
Read moreToo bad zero stars is not an option. This was such a bad experience buying a wedding dress. Buyers beware!!
I had purchased my wedding dress here and my initial experience of finding it was not bad at all, but as soon as we purchased the dress the nightmare began. I was told it would take months for the dress to arrive since it was "custom made" (that was a load of bs) which is fine because I had factored in that time into looking for a dress. A week later the dress arrived. When I went to try it on it was two size too small. I was told it was my fault because those were the measurements that I gave them... I didn't measure my self. The consultant measured me and told me that was the size I needed. Then they proceeded to tell me it was too small BECAUSE I HAD GAINED WEIGHT. (yes they actually said that to me)! and I am not a very large person normally fitting into a size 4/6. And when I had defended my self explaining I hadn't gained weight (me of all people would know if I had and I am a very active person), they told me it was because I gained muscle mass from being active. I am a very non confrontational person so after sitting there taking all the insults they could throw at me they told me they would cover the alteration of the top of the dress to make it fit as long as I did the alterations as soon as possible almost 9 months before my wedding.
After that part of the process I was supposed to receive appliques of the lace on the dress to make little off the shoulder sleeves. They were supposed to be ordered months ago which didn't happen because "they forgot". By the time they actually ordered them they would not guarantee they would arrive in time for the wedding but they still wanted us to pay in full for them. I just now received them 20 days before my wedding and when I had asked them if I could look at them to make sure they were the right ones and would match the dress before I bought them they almost refused to take them out of the bag. They kept saying "well let me pull it up to confirm its the right dress" in which they proceeded to google the wrong dress and you couldn't even see the lace in the picture when I kept telling them I had a close up picture of the lace in my hand. We took my dress somewhere else to get altered the the other store was such a blessing in this nightmare and did a wonderful job on alterations and calming my nerves.
I honestly don't understand how a store can have so many rude employees working there. I never leave reviews but I felt this one was well deserved. Never returning and never recommending this...
Read moreI was hesitant to buy a dress at Nikki’s as all of my experiences with them for prom, weddings, etc were pushy to say the least. Nonetheless I gave them a chance because they do have a beautiful inventory of dresses and I did end up find my wedding dress here.
A few issues, the last being my reason to never bring business here again
1 staff need to learn not pull dresses off the rack that aren’t in your brides stated budget. I spent out of my own bc I fell in love with a dress she pulled quoting it was 1500. It was not and then pretended to give me some BS “deal” on the dress. They did this when my sister looked for a dress years ago too.
An older consultant did the same thing to the bride next to me and then Shamed her for wanting to think about it and look at David’s bridal.
It is clear these aren’t accidents and is norm. I would suggest looking at prices before putting them on and if it’s out of budget do not put the dress on.
Don’t go during prom or homecoming season for a wedding dress. Their focus will be solely on these events and will just try to hurry you in and out with a purchase with their pushy tactics. Girls will have you wait at counter to leave bc they prioritize looking at homecoming dresses online over other customers.
Lastly I am so deeply angry at the condition of my dress after alterations. The manager/owner was not around when I picked up my dress and I am well aware I left with my dress and signed it out. I honestly took the dress home bc I did not trust her/them to fix what I was told would be difficult to undo or to leave the dress in their “care” again in general.
She took my dress in way too much causing me to now spill out of the back and there are pulls in the front now due to it as well. We had agreed at the first fitting that I needed a slight take in because I am small breasted. What I got was not a small take in and She gaslit me into thinking it looked fine at my appt. I am not a big person so the dress is clearly Squeezing too tight but regardless no one should feel the way I did spilling out of their wedding dress like this.
My dress was not steamed and clearly not cared for either. I was told that is not standard to do but to give me my dress back in this condition after spending so much money is messed up.
I am so embarrassed at how I look in my dress now and again left because I’m so done with this establishment. I’ll figure it out but Shame on...
