Horizon South Resort — Attraction in Panama City Beach

We stayed in unit 54-302. When we arrived Tuesday evening and the unit was filthy and had not been cleaned. I was able to reach the management company who sent someone right over to clean, which delayed us entering the unit for a couple of hours. That same evening, we received a message that the tub was draining really slow and they were sending a plumber the next day, which they did. However, it was only a temporary fix as by day 4, we had standing water in the tub again. We also informed them the WI-FI was not working. Thursday morning at 7:30ish a.m., management messaged us that the owner had scheduled Xfinity to come out as the WI-FI hadn't been working, at which point, I insisted they reschedule the appointment since we were able to use the neighbors WI-FI (my daughter's family was staying next store). We chose to drive to the beach because it was more convenient than Horizon South's beach access due to the construction that was going on, that we were not made aware of prior to our visit. We were left a giftcard for a restaurant with southern cuisine, which we did not use since we are from Tennessee. When we visit Florida, we are interested in eating the fish and seafood we can't get in Tennessee. The unit itself was decorated nicely and we had a decent view of the Gulf from the loft balcony, which was enjoyable and the beach was awesome. It was unfortunate that our 40th anniversary trip with family was plagued for half of our trip with having to deal with issues with the unit and the management company. I emailed requesting some sort of compensation for the issues we had to deal with, but heard nothing. I'm sure they will blame the owner as they have with all the other negative reviews, but I believe the owners pay an awful lot of money for these management companies to manage their units. Unit 7-A3 Once arrived was able to get inside of the condo very nice and clean. Went to the office and I wish this was mentioned in the email because we did not plan on spending $20 each for a armband for 5yrs old and older that was $220 for 11 people that we could have planned for if told in email. You will need to bring extra towels & tissue. They did provide about 6 towels and rags, pots, pans, plates, cups. The weeds in the patio area bring alot of lizards and bugs can't enjoy the time out the grill can be used but is dirty. The armbands are for activities on the property pool, hot tube, pool table, basketball, mini golf we did not have any of the tools in our unit to use all amenities no poolsticks, golf sticks or basketball so I asked residents and they advised it should be in the unit. I called customer service Keira spoke to her at 8:22p did not resolve just took msg to give to higher management. Spoke to April who was the supervisor at 8:41 who told me they updated the ticket and left a voicemail for the local manager who texted me this the next day "Hi Ronise, this is April with Vacasa. I know it is late but I just got an update on your request. The pool sticks amenity items should be at the club house according to the local property manager. I hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with" I was going back and front and could not get a refund because a armband is needed to be on the property. Other than that the stay was great just wish we was not blind sided by a $220 armband fee and wish I was able to use all amenities that we paid for. The condo is spacious. Just to add a little more info for next year. Your Parking pass will be 50. dollars for any stay over ten days and the new wrist bands are 40. dollars each for any stay over a week. So add another 130. dollars on to your expenses if they are 2 people coming. I have been coming here for 35 years. This was once a beautiful, friendly place to holiday. Now they charge a $25.00 fee for parking(new this year) plus the price for wrist bands went from $5.00 to $20.00. That and the price for renting a place here has gone right through the roof like everywhere in Florida. This place has the same issues today as it has had for the last ten years, 1 pool suppose to be heated and is but only when its not broken. All of the pools are open at 9am and close at 5pm. Again depending on who is telling the story they have a code violation for lighting or its a security issue. Depending on which lie you believe on that given day. The pools have been open 7am until 11:00pm until this year. Have been told for the last 10 years waiting for a part for the heater or waiting for a new heated which ever lie you wish to believe that day. They also pick and choose who's cars are going to be ticketed for parking pass violations, mine is one of eight cars outside the condo and not one of them with a visible parking pass, mine had the only ticket. Talk about code violations the garbage has been piled above the bin and on to the ground since Friday. They have roped it off with caution tape, so now the garbage bags are piled out front of the non-existing compactor. Again another excuse I am sure 2 months from now when I leave will be the same.
