My husband and I have been shopping here every week for the past 2 years and had never had a bad experience until the past month. After switching their self checkout system, it takes us nearly double the time to shop there. Not to mention the frustration we experience every time the overly sensitive system has an issue with the way we placed an item, making us have to wait for a staff member to simply log in and clear the error in the machine. It’s one thing to have a more accurate weight system to improve Lidl’s business, I can understand that. But when the store clearly operates on a model of bringing your own reusable shopping bags and you can’t even place those down first before scanning your goods, it is clear there is a flaw in the system. And what makes it worse is there’s no indication from staff or even higher management of this being a knowledgeable problem they’re working to solve. Instead, when this issue arises, staff simply say you need to bag your items AFTER you are done shopping for everything. It makes the efficiency of self check out pointless. Extremely disappointed with this change from Lidl. My husband and I have decided to begin shopping elsewhere and in fact it seems like a great reason to start visiting the Aldi just down the road for other dismayed shoppers. Unless Lidl acknowledges and fixes the issue soon, they’ll be loosing 100+ of weekly groceries from...
Read moreThis was my first trip to a Lidl supermarket. I'd read about the German discount chain coming to this market (in the WSJ) and completing against it's German rival Aldi. WARNING:: Yes; you will need to bring your own bags!!! This wasn't a problem for me, as I usually have some in my trunk, but they don't provide any. Since I'd been out of town over the Christmas holidays, and brought some food home with me, I had a short shopping list, but it did give me an idea of what they carry, how low their pricing is, and what the stores are like inside. They also make it clear that they back their brand with a guarantee, so you can bring it back if you don't like it. Since I'd never shopped there before, that "safety net" was a nice plus. Pricing was good on the items I needed, I got their brand in several areas (like cream for coffee), the store was clean and we'll organized, and there was no line to get in or check out - it was late on a Sunday, so that's not too surprising. Overall, I'm happy with what I got and would recommend that you try them out. It's a little drive for me, but the prices might be worth it, so I will intend to go back with a more regular shopping list and see. No issues...

Great prices! Great food! They have great deals on some quality frozen product. Their baked goods are very delicious! My family tore through a pack of their fresh baked chocolate cookie! They also have very delicious breads and soft pretzels.
They have a smaller selection of fresh produce but every time I have been in the produce has been quality!
I have also found great deals on dry goods (rice and beans) and canned goods.
Their price on eggs is unbeatable!
They are similar to ALDI but better deals and better food (in my opinion)! They have more selection and fresh baked goods.
Similar to ALDI you pack your own bags and you should bring your own otherwise you have to buy some.
That being said the...
