I have to rate this shopping center one star on account of the weird, old-people crowd. Now, I love old people, don't get me wrong, but I'm not 100% on board with grammas holding up training bras to their tween grand daughters and saying, "Back in my day, the girls sure weren't 'filled out' the way you kids are today." Girl, I silently wept for you. Your road is long. Next, there's Bealls. Or Bells. I have been in the south for 15 years and I still don't know which it is. It's got the late seventies department store feel, like where that same gramma might have gone after her weekly "shampoo and set" with stiff, flammable curls courtesy of AquaNet. So naturally, there's a Sears there, too, because you can't have an outdated strip mall without a Sears and neon poster up every month or so that says, "SCRATCH N' DENT SALE ON NOW!!!" or "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!! 60 to 90% OFF EVERYTHING!!!" complete with abuse of punctuation. So you would think you would get some reprieve from these retro, irrelevant strip malls because there's a gym. Planet Fitness is splashed with violent yellow and purple (it gets a slight pass for this abomination because it reminds me of the London airport transit buses, but really, London, you're better than this.) Anyhow, hit PF on the right day and queue up your Richard Simmons "Sweatin' to the Oldies" as you find yourself either mentally rehearsing how to give some vein-popping guy on the treadmill CPR (new guidelines! 30 compressions/2 breaths!) or literally being judged by the "no judgment zone" staffers who will pull an flashing siren alarm if you so much as LOOK like you know what you're doing. No worries, though. Comfort yourself with the free pizza and bagels the gym offers. Hey, job security, amirite? Enjoy your trip down...
Read moreOnce Upon A Child ruined this 1st time shopping trip experience here for me. I drive over an hour and when I arrive an hour & a half before closing they were dead slow, & I was the ONLY customer in the store along w/ 4 employees, 2 were literally propped up with nothing to do & the other 2 talking. She would not take my items (which I took the time to put on hangers thinkingit would be easierfor them) stating they needed time to clean up & close up. I looked around at a clean counter and store with no customers and very politely let her know just how far I had come but she didn't care. You better call and get all of the many rules 1st (which other locations don't require I may add.) I will not be returning and will go back to the Mississippi location! Love...
Read moreCAUTION!!! Do not shop at these businesses while the owner is having the property repainted. They are using sprayers during windy conditions to paint....despite parking well outside the cordoned off area, my brand new car, and a dozen others are covered with hundreds, if not thousands of little white paint drops.
The painters: didn't care, didn't apologize and didn't contact their manager until I threatened to call the police for property damage. No proof of insurance, etc.
Owner/Manager of Pensacola Square does not answer telephone calls. Again, I will ensure they make things right for me, but best not visit any of these businesses until they have completed painting, especially since they really don't know what...
