Everybody I encountered in this office, from the new girl, training for reception, to the medical assistant to the doctor... they all rocked. Totally down to earth, friendly and at the same time remained very professional and exuded competency on every level. I feared I'd have to have a 2nd appointment, however that was not the case. They came in the room, we discussed why I was there, Dr stated what she could do for me, and then she just did it. Didn't need to leave the room for supplies, and just got down to business. While removing problem areas, she checked to see if I had any other areas of concern, so when she finished, that was it. I didn't need a 2nd appointment or follow up. I was told how to care for areas after removal of bothersome tags/lesions. Cleanse, Vaseline and bandaid. Next appt in a year for check up. Now that was easy. And low stress. Or should I say no stress. Worse part was the numbing of the 2 areas. But that sting is nothing compared to what I would feel if we didn't numb it first. So I would have to conclude, this office is definitely 5 star rock stars all the way. Only downfall of the entire thing, was we forgot to get my id and insurance cards back to me so I had to return after I had already gone home, to retrieve them. But that was as much my fault as theirs. They forgot .. so did I. lol And I got a second chance to say thank you for the golden treatment I received when there for my appointment. I will return here if the need arises and I would recommend anyone who needs a dermatologist to, for sure, give Desert Valley Dermatology a chance. I'm sure you'll be as...
Read moreI give only one star for one reason. They were very nice and professional. I like them. ISSUE is that I went for a full body, skin check, specifically pointing out a place on my scalp that was suspicious to me. I was told by the MD that it was "nothing to worry about." As it got larger I went to another dermatologist. This is when I realized for the first time that there is a big difference between a dermatology practice that is primarily 'medical' vs a focus on what I assume is a more lucrative, 'cosmetic' focus. The MD, dermatologist that I went to for a second opinion immediately recognized the 'spot' as basal cell cancer. A biopsy was taken and then I needed a Mose procedure to remove the cancer. It was a large lesion requiring 10 stitches.
This could have likely been an easier thing to deal with if it had been identified sooner. If you are seeking a skin check for cancer I would be very careful to avoid practices that focus more on cosmetic dermatology than medical dermatology. Myself, I never thought about it until it was a bit late. Anyway, grateful...
Read moreI went for a few appointments for Alopecia Areata.
Pros: The staff was super friendly and helpful. Appointments are quick (also a bit of a con)
Cons: Parking can be tough (not the business’ fault but something to note. The few appointments I had were quick! I would ask questions and got short responses from Dr. Blumetti.
During my last visit, I started seeing minor hair growth in the couple spots I had. The doctor said “oh good! It usually takes 3 appointments to kick in” back when I asked during my first appointment, she never said this.
I also told her I had been trying Rosemary Mint oil, and she said a lot of her patients have seen some quick results with that. Again— I asked during appointments 1 & 2 if she had any suggestions other than the injections and she had only suggested Allegra…
I got the sense she was there to inject me with steroids, charge my insurance and that’s it. So I’ve cancelled future...
