We have a granddaughter with autism. She is slow walking and has trouble waiting in lines. We have been to other amusement parks but Dollywood is the best. This parks gets that a child with autism has trouble waiting in line, does not understand why they can not ride a ride because too tall. She is 12, but enjoys kiddie rides with her 5 year old sister. At Dollywood she was able to ride every ride with her sister. No coming back an hour or 2 hours later. Do you know how hard it is to take a child having trouble walking to be told to come back later? Yes I would trade places with a child with no disabilities and wait 2 hours. Yet Dollywood made this child so happy it is still all she wants to talk about. Every worker was so kind to her. We went late May early June. We were so grateful to all the employees. In fact leaving the park she had a melt down. To exit you go through a gift shop and have to walk farther to get to the bus. She was overwhelmed. An employee said we could go through the exit instead. Gave her a badge and sticker plus the 5 year old too! They understood and ready to help. We are forever grateful. Thank...
Read moreFirst time to park, really enjoyed it. I found it took hour or so to get familiar with the map and the activities. Be sure to pick up a brochure when you get in which outlines all of the show times for the... I found it easier to use than the app. I had been using the app for a week or so to get familiar with the park and I still learned a lot once I was physically in the park. Shows were excellent. I enjoyed the Dolly Experience with her history and museum the most. There were no lines for the rides which means the park was not busy, however I found there to be more people than I expected for the time of year September 24. We were not able to get into restaurants at all without 45 minute waits. The park is super clean and best of all the Halloween displays did not disappoint. We rented an ECV for my husband and it really enhanced the quality of our time there. We also bought the cinnamon bread at the spotlight bakery versus trying to get it...
Read moreThis replica of the little mountain home that Dolly and her precious family shared for many years was a sweet reminder that less truly CAN be more! I love Dolly's stories about her life growing up in the Smoky mountains of TN. This really brings it to life for her fans and it is so nice to know that she has used actual family heirlooms and things they used in their home. It is a living memorial frozen in time. Should not be missed by any true Dolly fan! It was the number one thing I wanted to see at Dollywood! Take a walk through, it is very tiny but you can surely feel the love that lingers there still. ❤️ It is one of MANY wonderful things included in your daily pass to the...
