Visited this store on Sunday a few complaints talked to the manager Mitch who was very unconcerned. I go in this store multiple times throughout the week. Now I will just go to another store I’ll drive the extra time to spend my money where it’s wanted. Grabbed some gain it was positioned above a $9.99 tag but the cashier said it wasn’t didn’t go look wouldn’t look at the picture- Sat when I was in I wanted nuggets it was 1pm the nuggets had a time stamp of 11:12am I asked the deli manager when did they make them fresh she said every 2 hours so I’m like okay that means your about to drop fresh ones, she says no she was running late so the nuggets really didn’t go out until 12pm so how do you have a 11:12am time stamp on the nuggets ma’am?! I go in this store multiple times a week and never can catch nuggets there’s never any made the day I do see them they are starting to look dry- as a deli manager I understand I have a lot going on but I also understand it will only take a few minutes to drop fresh nuggets- I would have offered most people are in a hurry and would say thank you but no they don’t want to wait- yet if they do I made my customer happy. The laundry detergent I would have offered the customer to come pick up at the price it said. I use the term “outstanding” purposefully as this location stands out among all of the Food Lions in the Charlotte area. This location does NOT deserve the aspersing nickname of “Hood Lion” because the staff is built different here! One employee I can identify is named James. Not only did I witness him walk all of the vulnerable staff(i.e. women) to their cars after closing time, but he even waited until all of the vulnerable staff members left the parking lot and gave a honk of affirmation before re-entering the building. This was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving when most people are rushing home to get to their families, but James took care of his staff. These are the types of actions that breed good attitudes and a happy work environment for all. I love that the staff is usually pleasant and having a good time while working. On this particular Tuesday, my car died and I relied of rides to get to and fro. While I was waiting for my cab, my phone died :( because of James’ outstanding service, I felt comfortable asking him for a personal favor. Read moreI have been going to this Food Lion location for the five years I have been living here. I have noticed the decline in customer service and the staff recently, but I didn’t say anything due to the challenging year we all have had. Today, my husband experienced the most unsatisfactory service today. The clerk that rang his items up never proceeded to shift his groceries to the end so that he could take them. Making it impossible for him to grab the grocery bags for himself. The clerk was also on her phone the entire time she rang his groceries up. After returning home and discovering that she didn’t hand him all of his bags, he had to go back to the store to retrieve it. Once he brought this lack of service to her attention she simply gives him a shrug and looks away. This type of service is rude and it is unprofessional.
