I absolutely loved it! We went for brunch last Sunday, around noon. There was a wait for a 2-top (no problem, we figured there would be). They said half an hour, so we went on Walnut St and did some shopping for a bit. We came back about 27 mins later and then right on the dot, they called our name. The inside of the cafe is really cute. I loved the painted brick. We were served water in a jug with 2 glasses right away. (My partner would say their water jugs were too small, but he's a camel and drinks like 10,000 gallons per day, so I wouldn't take him too seriously lol.) We both ordered savory crepes. My partner got the ham and cheese, and I got whichever one has pesto, spinach, tomatoes, and fresh mozz. We both loved our meals. The crepes themselves were perfect, with fresh ingredients and great ratios of ingredients. They tasted like the cooks really know their stuff. The flavors were amazing. Also, the crepes came with really simple side salads - just mixed greens with what tasted like lemon juice and olive oil. Sooo tasty. Sometimes you just want a really fresh, simple salad where the greens glow. OMG and the coffee! I got a vanilla latte, and it was one of the best lattes I've had in Pittsburgh. Their barista definitely knows what they're doing - and I'm a barista myself, so I know what I'm talking about! And all of this wasn't even that expensive! I think we each paid like $15 ish, or something? Awesome deal. I definitely want to go back sometime. I'm not even much of a crepe person, but this food was so good I'll probably...
Read moreNot great with allergies: I am gluten free and nut free. Despite having "gluten free" french toast on the menu, my server told me that the kitchen could not even attempt to make french toast without cross contamination if I had celiac.
Apparently the grill is shared and she said they wouldn't be able to clean it off? I haven't had this happen to me before in a long time. Kitchens usually can at least attempt to accommodate allergies even if there is still a slight risk of cross contamination (which I would have been totally fine with).
I'm glad she told me that the kitchen couldn't make it gluten free because it was better to find out then rather than get sick later. Almost everything was cooked on the grill so basically the only option for me was a salad :( .
My party's food took a while to come out. The food was decent overall, but two people I was with ordered a side sausage and were only given 3 individual sausage coins for $3. When we complained about it, they seemed annoyed and rather than taking it off the bill they provided 3 additional sausage coins to split between two girls. At least it provided for a pretty comical moment I suppose.
Overall, I am giving a two star review because of the extremely poor attention to allergies. For many of us, celiac isn't a fad diet. It really sucks when a menu misleads us to believe that there will be options for us when there won't be. If you are going to put the "gluten free" label on the menu you should do your very best to ensure that...
Read moreDino Cuturic, mate, I think you're the one doing the screeching in the comments. Calm down. Firstly, if you took a basic middle school physics class, you would realize the human voice doesnt have a high enough frequency to shatter a thick water glass (unless u were drinking water in a wine glass), your concerns were useless ;) Oh, and I do understand sarcasm.
Anyways Ive deleted my comment because well, I really dont care, I'll let you have your 5 star rating back Tahsin ;), and Google will probably take down your descriptive story telling comments because they're deemed irrelevant. Also just in case you didn't realize Dino, its almost verbal bullying, using the words you used (banshee). I ain't calling you out personally dude, you gotta chill. You're the one screeching here. Also pls dont call me lady, it makes me feel old when I'm not even 21.
Anyways, have a good easter, if you celebrate it. Of course I will delete this comment if you take down yours too, I mean Google will eventually take all these comments down anyways since its not relevant to the busines, since I removed the original review and yall are making it personal. If not, guess who's the real vindictive person, as yall say in your comments, (Hint : its not me, because I peacefully took down my comment on the disrespectful service, as I might have over...
