This art store stocks a fair quality of goods, however any patrons entering should know exactly what they want, because not every employee knows what they stock. Depending on the shop associate, you may actually be impeded and insulted upon leaving. I would shop elsewhere if their prices were not the best, but whenever I do go in, my associates and I are either greeted with cool snobbishness to downright inhospitable rudeness. Case in point: my associate, after shopping at this location for years was one day asked to drop her school bag: containing laptop, tablet, phone, wallet, and misc. other supplies at the front door- for the sales associate to ignore and possibly let them get stolen. I am upset and angry at this particular encounter, and do plan to take it up with the manager and the particular employee should I see them again.
Final verdict: the prices are okay, the stock is very mediocre, and be prepared to deal with the people working there for better or for worse....
Read moreI used to like this store a lot but a negative experience with an employee changed my opinion. I came here with a few friends over the weekend and an employee took it upon himself to follow us around the store then accuse us of stealing. (But not until after we made our quite legal purchases at the counter.)
He was hostile towards us, made me feel uncomfortable the entire time I shopped, and was abrasive when he realized he’d been incorrect in his assumption. I’ve been working as a professional artist for about 10 years and I’ve never felt more uncomfortable in an art supply store. I will not be coming back and I hope the employees learn how to handle situations like this better in the future.
I believe he was also under the assumption that we were teenagers (we’re almost 30). Even then an employee shouldn’t treat a customer that way, even if...
Read moreGood variety of products carried throughout the store and a decent selection of brands within each category. They interchange deals and sales on select products from time to time so it's worth stopping in to see if you can score a good deal but I find a lot of the products can be found for cheaper online but there's nothing like going into a store and feeling the products in your hand. I wanted a sketchbook for every day use that would be travel-friendly and came across the leuchtturm1917 A5 sketchbook next to the moleskin display at the front of the store. I really enjoy it and love the feel and weight of the paper. I definitely wouldn't have picked out this product if I hadn't gone to the Blick store in person. Definitely recommend any artist stop in and see what they...
