Lovely staff, including security! My 4yo enjoys the computer programs that are aimed at his age group and the closed-off playroom. Big "Thank You!" for that!!!! After school dismal isn't the best time to be there with your little ones since the jr/high school students start to flow in loud, cussing, and fussing, but the Librarians pop up quickly and (kindly) keep them in check. Also, they always loop around a couple of times to check if they can help me with anything, finding books, book suggestions on topics I'm discussing with my son, or even if it's just carrying my bag of books while I wrangle my two little ones. He was walking around the table and fell and the librarian nearby yelled at us saying for him to take his shoes off and give them to whoever they belonged to. She was assuming they weren’t his and was way out of her lane. My tip for any librarian or staff here or anywhere, don’t assume a teen or anyone’s gender or sexuality... it was rude and cruel for her to say that to us and yell at us for doing nothing. Fix...

Like most things in New Albany, it is impeccably clean, white, and makes you feel a tad uncomfortable for being there when you don't have a six-figure salary. The facility is wonderful, but it just feels a bit unnerving at times. Also, the children's area is extremely loud when there are events, and the only place to get some quiet is in the silent study room.
