We went for dinner Tuesday Oct 4th. 2022. When we arrived we told the host/hostess we would like to sit at the bar. There was open seats, after almost 5min we were not waited on or acknowledged. There was 1 bartender working the bar and making drinks for the tables. This was also after right after there happy hour which we missed (not thinking we missed much). With the bar stools being extremely uncomfortable (at this point we should have left) Wanting to stay after seeing reviews and the menu we really wanted to try this place out. So we asked for a table. They seated us in a booth for 2 (I hate booths) They never even asked if we would want the patio (which we would have and didn’t notice they had till later in the meal). The place is very loud you can hear everyone around you and their conversations. The music, I really did not except rap, I figured from the reviews smooth jazz would be playing. The waiter was very nice, wait staff is not trained properly the carry water bottles, glasses and plates improperly. I don’t want finger prints on my appetizer plates (and/or dried food) or someone’s hand over top of the water bottle opening. This was not just our waiter I noticed other staff doing this also. So we ordered the Dip Trio appetizer which is hummus (no flavor to it we have had much better elsewhere) guacamole (needed salt very little favor) and the smoked trout (that you could eat with a spoon very delicious) it came with tortillas chips (they were way to big and not really what you expected for a place that claims to be high end should have been warm nano). I ordered the special which was filet (medium-steak was cooked spot on not seasoned or aged but still good) grilled shrimp (not grilled was in a pool of butter and RAW) Brussels spouts (where not cooked and was very tuff). This is my favorite meal and my go to when we go out (not from this place very disappointed). I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio, Lunardi, Venetian, Italy $11 a glass. It was very nice and smooth no legs so am sure it was CA not Italy but not bad I did have 2 glasses but not a $11 a glass wine. He ordered the Sushi Rolls, (Stuff & Turf and King Kong not tell him which was which when delivered to our table) he said was not bad but he would never order that again it was more like Kroger deli sushi then a nice restaurant quality. He ordered unsweetened ice tea (having surgery the next day) saying the tea had a good fresh taste. We had no dessert, already being disappointed we did not want to make it worse. The waiter came to box up our food and I told him I did not want to take my dinner because of the shrimp and Brussels spouts being raw. Keep in mind at this point we have 4 small plates on our table for appetizers and sharing and could only use 1, dried food and finger prints on the other plates. I had them stacked at the edge of the table the entire meal and nothing was asked about them or removed. During our dinner I used the restroom upon my return I told him I sure hope the kitchen is cleaner then the bathroom (which at this time I am sure it is not, another hint we should have left as I found myself in the bathroom a few time that night) The manger brought us our bill and said the waiter told him about my meal and that he removed it and that they missed the spot on this meal. I told him about the plates and he said “sounds like we need new water in the dishwasher” (so they use the same water over and over gross). This place needs a lot of work and training if they are wanting to be high end. Everyone was very nice but nice doesn’t mean you have a high end restaurant with...

When it comes to the food, Hudson 29 excels in offering a diverse and thoughtfully curated menu that showcases a variety of flavors and culinary techniques. I began my meal with the charcuterie board, which featured an array of artisanal meats, cheeses, and house-made accompaniments. Each component was thoughtfully selected, creating a delightful balance of flavors that set the stage for the meal to come.
For my main course, I opted for the pan-seared scallops, which were cooked to perfection. The scallops were beautifully caramelized on the outside, tender and succulent on the inside, and served over a bed of creamy risotto with seasonal vegetables. The dish was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the chef’s skill in crafting a well-rounded meal.
Dessert at Hudson 29 is not to be missed. I indulged in the chocolate molten cake, which was rich and decadent, paired with a scoop of house-made vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal, and I left feeling completely satisfied.
While Hudson 29 offers an elevated dining experience, it’s important to note that the prices reflect this fine dining atmosphere. Read moreThe best part of this restaurant was the company. We were celebrating three family members' birthdays in August, including my father in law's 92nd birthday. We had reservations for 3 booths ahead of time for our celebration, because our party had 10+ people attending. I even confirmed the reservation the day of, by phone, after receiving a voicemail from the restaurant to confirm the reservation for that night. My husband and I arrived 10 minutes early and we were seated at one of the three booths, which was confirmed by the hostess and dictated to the seater as to the waiter assignments. There were reserved signs on three booths towards the back and my husband and I sat at the one closest to the front. Before the rest of our party arrived, we were told we would have to move to one of the other two booths and that one would be no longer be available to us. It was promptly seated with a family of 4. One of members asked to speak to a manager when the rest of party arrived, but she (the manager) did not show up till after we had received our entrees and started eating. There were no spoons to stir the sweetener/ sugar in your tea. I had to ask for a spoon to eat my soup and my dining companion had to ask for a steak knife in order to cut her fatty prime rib (half of it was fat; see picture). There was a fly in the restaurant that we kept having to shoo away from our food constantly. So, we have to wear masks to protect us from COVID-19, but whose going to save us from Zika??? Again, no spoon for the ice cream -- had to ask...spoon shortage? Avocado/corn side had pieces of black avacodo in it. Service, need I repeat it, was less than stellar to say the least. Pitiful for a supposed Cameron Mitchell restaurant. Food was also less impressive (again see pictures). Awful,...
