This salon clearly violates Ohio health code:
I have filed complaint #CO2025-0004
They do not barbicide/disinfect the drill bits, brushes, or nippers for nail extension services. Vivian then proceeded to argue with me over text saying the brushes would be wet between clients which is absurd you should own enough brushes to sanitize between clients. The law is anything touching skin between clients needs full disinfection. Also she tried to state alcoholing nippers is sufficient when it is not and does not comply with code. She said well its not a full manicure. However it is still trimming and touching skin and high risk of microcuts and blood borne pathogens. Artificial nails are higher risk even than manicures given drill use. I refuse to take a risk of going to a dirty salon that does not operate per the law. Especially in such a high end area with top vip clientele I expected better service and treatment! I tried this salon once since my usual was booked. I would recommend never going here given high risk of infection and potential for disease, and complacency against the health code laws. Also she does not understand the severity when trying to bring to her attention and got defensive and argued over text with me. Guess she does not respect her customers either. Good luck keeping this business open now Vivian. It could have been an easy fix/adjustment and confirmation owner to client privately but you tried to defend your poor practices which clearly violate the law so now unfortunately I am having to report to protect...
Read moreLet me say that my fist experience with Evelyn was great. She did acrylic pink and white and I had no issues. The second visit was with Vivian and I was 15 min late which was my fault and while my nails looked fabulous, she cut me on like 6 fingers which burned for days. I get it, I was late which set her back so she had to rush. Now the 3rd visit went pretty well. They did my pedicure and fill at the same time but that was kind of uncomfortable as I had to lean over and couldn't enjoy my Pedi. I do like that it doesn't take as long but it wasn't that comfortable. Now to my main concern....I noticed a dark spot under one nail and I was concerned it was fungus. I text Vivian and she said fungus was common and normal and I'm not so sure that's accurate. This last visit cost me 200$ for my Pedi and balance all because I got French. I chalked it up because the work was good or so I thought but I removed the acrylic at home and sure enough nail fungus. Vivian did offer to remove it but I opted out because I'm nervous to get fungus on other nails now. She wanted to grind it off and re put acrylic which I didn't believe would heal it properly. They do good work don't get me wrong but nail fungus is a big deal to me and for that fact, I can't return. My nails still looked good and if it wasn't for the fungus I wouldn't of taken them off after almost 2 weeks. Waste of my money sadly and she wouldn't refund the balance. :( after my nail heals of the fungus I'll be on the hunt once again for...
Read moreI am so happy I did a search for nail salons near me and found a new small, local salon called Vivian Nail House! I enjoyed my opportunity to support this woman-owned business. Vivian is a gem of person as are her employees! As Avelyn tended to me, I observed Vivian ensure her customers were comfortable, offering coffee and water and was constantly ensuring each work space was clean and tidy. I greatly enjoyed observing her guide her employees to ensure they upheld her high standards. The salon is light, airy, beautiful and peaceful. Our community can help Vivian perfect her process and flow by purchasing services and becoming repeat customers. I want to shout out Avelyn: I enjoyed listening to her work on her English while helping others learn Spanish. I handed her nails that had not been touched by a salon in longer than I care to admit and she made them beautiful again! It’s time for me to get back into the routine of a little “me time” and I will do that by returning to Vivian Nail House...
