Probably the worst customer service response EVER!! My husband loved (past tense) the Rusty Bucket and I thought it was just "okay" which seems to differ from other opinions. About two (2) weeks ago, I ordered dinner for take out. I had the salmon with stir fry vegetables and my husband had fish and chips.
The Rusty Bucket in New Albany is only about a 10 minute drive. My husband went to pick up the food and was back home in no time. My disappointment and personal dislike of this restaurant reached an all-time high. The fish & chips were cold as an Arctic blast...the french fries could not have been prepared even within the last hour. Cold, stiff, gross french fries. My meal was also cold and the salmon didn't appear to be fully cooked.
My husband went back to the Rusty Bucket and spoke with a manager and explained calmly our issue with our order especially his fish & chips & french fries. The manager on duty then offered my husband a bag of new fries. That's it! No offer to make our meals again hot & fresh or to even discount the bill. We have never expected a free meal anywhere. My husband felt cheated. I felt cheated. We'd been fairly regular customers due to my husband's prior love of the Rusty Bucket.
I was furious when my husband told me that after paying more than a few dollars for our meals, he was offered new french fries as an acceptable resolution. Not so fast...I called the restaurant expressing my deep frustration.
Not long after, we did receive a full credit back on our meal but I had to "fight" for it. I hate...
Read moreAlcohol: Great selection of drafts. Happy hour is a decent amount of time. Staff were happy to provide a taste-test of a draft they were featuring, though they do not appear to do flights of alcohol.
Staff: Staff were amazing, Lucas was extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu and very prompt on service. Staff didn't seem to be oversat and appeared to be enjoying their positions and (I hope) it seemed low-stress.
Food: The Chicken Parmesan is amazing. It comes with a large, deep-fried, breaded breast coated in a rich red sauce and melted Parmesan. A serving of pasta in alfredo sauce. And some garlic bread (think homemade garlic bread using a hoagie bun).
Excerpt: My father, who is usually chatty during dinner, was entirely silent as he tried in vain to eat his (fresh from the fryer/oven) chicken parm.
Total Price: With 2x 16oz Angry Orchard, 1x 20oz Miller Lite, 2x Soft Drinks, 1x Chicken Finger meal, 1x Turkey Burger add bacon, 1x Bacon Burger, 1x Dave's Blend Whiskey during Happy Hour - the total came to $95.11.
Enough food to fill 4 adult stomachs (and keep them filled) for $95 is pretty hard to come by in my experience.
Recurring Visit: I will definitely be coming back, and I believe so will my parents. Perhaps next time I can update my review with...
Read moreThe pricing is reasonable and there's a good variety of items on the menu. There is a huge seafood/fish selection- like 1/3 of the menu is fish. For a person that doesn't prefer seafood the smell can be overwhelming. They have a few pasta dishes and pizza. During happy hour the pizza is half off which is the best deal they have. The alcohol menu consists or a variety of craft beers, mixed drinks and wine by the bottle or glass. The mixed drink are overpriced unless you're there during happy hour. They have a nice patio if you perfer to eat outdoors.
Update: I gave this place another shot because I was driving thru. I had the Pesto Chicken Pasta. The menu stated it was a pesto marinated grilled chicken breast, but I received deep fried breaded chicken. They was no pesto on the Pesto Chicken dish... it's a sports bar with basic bar food. I also had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for $24 which is okay for a bottle at a restaurant. Don't expect anything to fancy and stick with the pizza and beer. This place would be perfect for pizza and beer during football season. I'm only deducting stars because the menu was inaccurate and the second time the service was...
