A simple hair cut some would say is what they get when they come to La Belle Vie . . . but nay this is not the case. An EXPERIENCE . . . would be a better suited description of what I have just been through. A word to the wise, and I know you are out there. Ask for madam Karman Carlisle. A humble master of her trade in everything that she does. As you walk in they have a water and a ferroche chocolate waiting for you as you are brought to your station to be served. I, fully trusting in Karman's abilities as a hair stylist and also in her ability to make one look as though they just spent $500 on a haircut, have always told her to do what she will with my hair, but just make me look more attractive than before. Has she failed yet? I tell you NO! If Gucci had a salon Karman would be the master behind it because her results are luxurious. Halfway through she'll whisk you off to wash and shampoo your hair with the most quality of essential oils while the whole time giving you a scalp massage that somewhere else, someone is paying hundreds of dollars for the same experience. I tell you friend if this isn't the most relaxing, peaceful and godly thing I have experienced I don't know what is. Buying hair growth products would be worth it just to shorten the length of time between this, and your next appointment. I imagine this is what Brad Pitt feels like when he's getting his hair did, but the only, and most critical difference is, he doesn't have a woman such as Karman Carlisle behind the scissors. With Karman, you'll leave with the confidence of Kanye West, and the looks of whoever's on the cover of people's magazine for sexiest man alive...
Read moreI got my hair cut here a few weeks ago and it was a disaster. I waited until now to write a review so that I could cool off a bit, but I'm still upset about it.
My bangs were beyond crooked. When I went into work the next day, everyone thought that I had cut my hair myself. Not only were they crooked, they were choppy and I had a clear alternating pattern of long chunks and short chunks of hair. Horrible.
I asked for layers in my hair and I know she spent time cutting something, but I don't know what she was cutting because I can't find any layers. She must have done a great job blending them in, because I can't find them.
I wanted framing layers around my face, and not once did she check if the layers were even. The top layers of one side were down by my chin, while the layers on the other side were up by my cheek bones. I had to ask her to even them out because she was about to just call it good and be done. Even then she took two careless seconds and cut a teensy bit more off, STILL not checking if they were even.
Honestly, when I asked her to even out my layers and she still didn't care to check if they were even (because they were still so clearly uneven, I was practically in shock that she couldn't see it/didn't care at all), it became clear to me that my hair was just going to keep getting shorter with nothing actually getting fixed. At that point I just wanted the appointment over with.
The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because I was too chicken to tell her to her face that I hated it. So I suppose I'll shoulder one star's worth of...
Read moreEDIT: I'm changing my rating from 3 to 4 Stars. La Belle Vie reached out to me and offered to have me come back in for a massage. I've been unable to go YET because of my schedule / kids, but I sincerely appriciate a buisness who listens to feedback and trys their best to improve.
I'm torn about my massage experience. This is my second visit to La Belle Vie. My 1st was in July for a pedicure. I was so impressed with the salon. They took me right back, gave me a chocolate and water and set me up in a beautiful and comfy pedicure room. The service was top class . Now for my 2nd visit last week for a massage... The massage and masseur (Parley) were great! But the room provided was one I'd expect at a massage therapy school , not at a nice salon. -The room was freezing and there was no were to set my clothes. The light was bright and never dimmed. -The oil/lotion used was in a plastic throw away cup that my masseur would just scoop out occasionally. This was also ICE cold.
The massage table was heated and comfy but that was the only pro of the room. I was really disappointed that a nice salon did massages in such an awful room. I don't think I'll be coming back for a massage here.
I'm give 3 stars because my 1st visit was a 5 star visit and my 2nd was a...
