It’s definitely time to switch pharmacies. The commercials boasting about how helpful their pharmacists are, are clearly just a marketing gimmick to get your business. In reality, the pharmacist and techs here are far from helpful. I’ve witnessed them being unprofessional, and I’ve overheard multiple customers expressing frustration while waiting for their prescriptions.
They will give you a time to come back for your meds, but when you return, they are not ready and they’re rude when you ask about it. More than once, I’ve been told they don’t have our prescription, even after my doctor has already sent it in. This has resulted in unnecessary calls to my doctor’s office to confirm the prescription was sent correctly.
You also get text messages saying your meds are ready, only to arrive and find out it’s an automated message, and your meds aren’t actually ready. I’ve been told it will be hours before they are. And when I asked about an insurance issue—asking just to confirm that I hadn’t refilled a prescription picked up last week—I was met with a snarky response and no apology for the confusion of the message telling me the cost to pick up was over $200.
To top it off, they often run out of medications, and when you call to check if it’s in stock, they won’t tell you when the next delivery is. When you ask for follow-up, they act as if it’s an inconvenience for them to tell you which day you can check back. Medications are required to treat conditions, and this lack of communication is frustrating and unnecessary. They will tell you to call the pharmaces yourself, when asked if they know if any of the other Walgreens have it instock.
While some of this may be due to system glitches, that doesn’t justify the rude attitude or lack of customer care. We’ve even received incorrect medication information from the techs, and when we brought it to the pharmacist’s attention, he defended the tech despite the mistake. It’s frustrating when you’re simply trying to address concerns, and instead of receiving assistance, you’re met with defensiveness. This is typical treatment from their staff, this is treatment off a simple question. We try to be polite and curtious even after they are rude and still get the same treatment. Such as, thanks for looking, I would hate for you to have to fill something I wasn't picking up.
If you value professionalism, accuracy, and respectful customer service, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Read moreI'm not one to usually leave a bad review however I think people should beware of buying gift cards at Walgreens. I go in there all the time to buy gift cards for clients. I gave a really good client a $500 gift card to Amazon. When he went to use it it did not work even though we had the activation receipt and code. When he called Walgreens they said it was a problem with Amazon and Amazon to him it was a Walgreen issue. The manager told me she couldn't help us. They said it looked like the card was returned even though there is a no return policy on gift cards. I am embarrassed to think that I have had other clients that this could have happened to and they never said anything. My client figured since it was such a large amount he needed to say something. Needless to say 2 months after buying the card and many calls, emails to Walgreens headquarters, and getting my bank involved (I paid for it with my debit card) I was finally issued an Amazon credit. They were beyond unhelpful and it should not have been that difficult to figure out the card didn't work and was not used. We had the original packaging...
Read moreBe careful with this pharmacy. If your prescription isn't covered by your insurance, your prescription won't ever be filled unless you call in (despite what the automated message says). If you call to get it filled, they wont tell you that it's not covered by your insurance and you won't be told that they put it under good Rx unless you ask at check out. Make sure to clarify prices of medications before purchasing and make sure the prescription is covered through insurance. I had a prescription that was improperly called in by my physician as 3 a day instead of 2 but the quantity was still 60 so I thought it was a months supply. When I called in, I got a rough, short answer of "it's for 60, right? Come pick it up when you get the message." No warning that my insurance didn't cover it (which is why it was only filled when i called in) so when I checked out and a loud car went by - I trusted the total was the same as it always is. It was not. I'm now out $100 because even tho I ran in as soon as I got the medication and looked at the reciept, they couldn't return the medication due...
