Popped into this local boardwalk staple after a stroll on the boardwalk. The interior is very quaint and has an old fashioned feel to it which brings you back to your childhood. They have loads of prepackaged sweets lining the walls and on display tables. The glass displays are filled with chocolate, candy apples, fudge and all sorts of decadent treats. The prices are a bit high but it is to be expected as it is a tourist destination. The staff is friendly but can come off as a bit bothered by people and their questions. Not the most personable. We purchased 1 lb. of fudge and received two pieces free which was nice. The fudge selection was vast and we got a little bit of everything. The best was the maple walnut hands down. It was smooth and creamy and the walnuts give it a good crunch. The others are all very good also but get ready for a sugar rush. Overall it’s a great establishment and I would recommend it as a place to try on the boardwalk if your looking for something sweet with a great selection to choose from.

Jenkinson’s Sweet Shop 300 Ocean Ave. Point Pleasant, NJ 08742 Candy Apple This is my first time exploring a dessert apple. I was always curious due to its gleamy, attractive appearance. It was challenging to remove the apple from the wrapper and pieces of the cupcake wrapper got stuck to the apple. I underestimated how hard the outer layer was as I had a difficult time biting into the apple. In my opinion, I feel the tart granny smith apple and candy coating doesn’t blend well together especially since I prefer to have my fruit chilled. I am confident this sweet shop has other appealing dessert choices, but the candy apple is not one of them. #localbusiness #jerseyshore #PointPleasantBeach #pointpleasantnj #jenkinsonsboardwalk #jenkinsonssweetshop #candyapple

I’m writing this review because I’m seriously considering driving back down the shore to get more of this fudge! It’s the fudgiest fudge I’ve ever had! Perfect, not overly sweet and stuffed with fillings. Why did I only get two pieces?! I’m a fool. Anyway, this place is delicious. The shop is adorable and clean. I found the service friendly and attentive. I did notice that some of the older adult customers were rude. I was being helped by one of the staff and an older man elbowed me several times pretty much demanding to be served. I think these bad reviews are from entitled rude customers that aren’t kind to staff.

I was just at Jenkinson's Ice Cream & Candy Shop yesterday and there were flies crawling all over the fudge. I should have walked out but I had already began the ordering process. I tried to choose flavors that had no flies on them at that time. I brought the fudge home but decided to throw it away considering the fact that flies were crawling all over everything and flies must have been all over every flavor of fudge and every other piece of everything in those cases. There were both fruit flies and regular house flies buzzing around in the cases. The employees just ignored the infestation as if they were used to it. I threw $30 of fudge and other chocolate covered treats in the garbage as a result the next morning. I didn't even look at it because I was afraid to find maggots. Either way flies carry germs and bacteria from landing on and consuming fecal matter, garbage, dead things, ect... Never again will I give business to a place that allows disgusting flies to crawl all over their...

So my family and I visited the aquarium and wanted to see the sites around the area. Well it didn't take long before my wife suggested to get some ice cream and candy for the kids. I got the Cookie Dough ice cream with reese's pieces and Oreo cookie crumbs. The Ice Cream was so velvety and smooth and creamy. It gave me that feeling you feel after a long day of work and you have a craving for something you know you have in the fridge. When you open that freezer door and your Ice Cream is standing proud front and center. It gave me such nostalgic energy of just great memories. My kids had ice cream as well and hot pretzel which was nice and a little crisp on the outside and soft and warm on the inside which is exactly how I like it. Definitely a must come back to when I...
