I went here with family members whom we hadn't seen in awhile. It smelled great when we walked in, that is where the train stopped. The part of the dinning area we were in was very dimly lit. Made it difficult to see the menu easily. While we waited for our drinks to arrive, everyone noticed that ALL the silverware was very spotty and smudgy. No food or anything, maybe a little JetDry in the dishwasher. (Instead of drinking the water on the table, we used it to discretely clean off the utensils.) Ok, a few no big deal issues so we just relaxed and enjoyed catching up. **(The entire staff are all very sweet. They are polite, courteous and attentive to the patrons.) Our entrée's came, some of our party enjoyed their meals and some were very disappointed. One relative had ordered a chicken dish which wound up only half cooked. She told our waitress, {Who was so kind and went above and beyond to make our experience better.} who immediately bought it back to the kitchen. She came back with a new order asap. One problem, it wasn't chicken but fish she had bought back. My relative is not a fan of fish in this kind of sauce. So she told our waitress, who was so apologetic and offered to bring a menu so she could re-order something else. Unfortunately, my relative had lost their appetite and politely declined. The waitress felt so bad, and we kept telling her it was ok. The manager came over and apologized, later on even the owner said sorry about that. We were not charged for my relatives' meal. I ordered crab cakes and they were ok. My potatoes however tasted like they were made from instant potato flakes. Didn't mention anything, no big deal, wasn't going to make it one. We finished our meals, paid the check and went on our way. It's a nice, lively, clean looking place. A bit brighter lighting would be helpful. The prices were reasonable, same as other places around the area. Maybe it was just an off night. It's an ok place, but a few of us weren't really thrilled by it. I say hey take a shot; you have nothing to lose and you might walk away with a totally...
Read moreThis is my second time at The Offshore and it was a pleasant experience. My first time was years ago, so I don’t have much memory of it. We made a reservation for 4 and were sat upon arrival. It’s a very cozy atmosphere. I honestly would love to sit at the bar. It has at least 2 fireplaces, which makes it perfect for off season as well. Our server was absolutely lovely. She was kind and patient and attentive to our needs. We started with drinks from the bar which were served quickly and strong. The Spicy and Greasy Rhode Island Calamari was a great choice for an app. It was definitely spicy! The calamari was tender and delicious. The salad with the house dressing was fresh. The dressing is very good and the homemade croutons added a nice touch. For my entree, I ordered linguine with white clam sauce. The clams were plentiful, but the sauce lacked much flavor. That is my only wish for improvement. The servings are massive! Definitely brought home leftovers. My mom got the flounder francaise and loved it. Another member of our party got the meatball appetizer as her meal and enjoyed it. We have an overall nice experience, plus it has a dedicated parking lot which is an...
Read moreVery disappointed..my first time back here since before the fire..I know it's been a long time, but I remember being so satisfied my last visit.. The restaurant decor is very quant.. It's divided into several rooms and helps cut down on noise from other dinners..the restaurant was dark, but had an appropriately placed light that was very helpful for reading the menu while at the same time not interfering with other tables... My girlfriend ordered a panini which came out crunchy but that is where the good part ends..it was incredibly lacking in anything other than roasted peppers..the 1 thin slice of prosciutto and cheese failed to even register a taste over the peppers and pesto that was on it.. I ordered the sliced NY strip sandwich med rare..I got a med well steak sandwich with garlic butter..the garlic butter was placed on one corner of the sandwich and after the first bite I no longer had a garlic steak..just an piece of meat with no other seasonings or added flavor..the one good point to my dish was the fries, which were perfectly cooked..the fries and the decor saved this from being a 1 star experience and I do not believe we will return to the restaurant in...
