We were in Point Pleasant for a wedding and decided to make a mini-vacation out of it. This place received good reviews and was a decent price for the season and area. After booking the room I also shared it with the other wedding travelers and many of them decided to book this same place. At one point in the weekend I think our family/friends took over the place! The Room/Amenities: We booked a Double Queen room and size wise, it was what you needed and nothing more. Some may say it’s a little cramped, but it worked just fine for us and I didn’t plan on spending my weekend in the room. The room was super clean and smelled fresh upon our arrival along with daily cleanup and replenishing of towels and toiletries. Unlike some places a hairdryer is not located in the room, but is available at the front desk along with an iron and ironing board. The rooms wrap around a pool which is clean and has ample seating around it for all of the guests. Another nice point is the covered area outside of every door which gives you a nice place to sit and enjoy the weather or escape from the rain as we had to do on our stormy weekend there. While the covered area is a little small, we found our group hanging out there for a few hours at the end of every night. As mentioned by some other reviews, the parking is tight but parking passes are given out and we found it easier to park on the side roads than in the parking lot. The Location: This is an easy walk to some nice restaurants, bars, and most importantly the Ocean and Boardwalk! The road this is on leads to the quieter side of the boardwalk and beach with an easy walk to the more touristy area and kid-zone. With everything so close, we only got in our car once to run to a store for some items; otherwise we just walked everywhere which for me, is part of vacation. I don’t like having to drive through unfamiliar locations to get to sights/attractions. The Staff: I kept this part for last as the staff was amazing, most notably Lori (might have misspelled the name). She was the one I called and booked the room with as well as being helpful and an absolute pleasure to stay with. Lori called the day of our first stay in the morning to see when we would be in so that our room would be prepped and ready, also helped with local activities/locations and anything else we needed. The rest of the staff was just as helpful and friendly. Conclusion: I would definitely stay here again. The price, convenience, facilities, and staff...
Read moreMy friend and I stayed here the weekend before Memorial Day. From what I gather, this hotel just recently re-opened. The price was really affordable, so I'd say it was good for what we paid for - a no-frills, small motel with some amenities.||THE GOOD:|- They let us check in a couple hours early (though we were only one of two rooms occupied the first night)|- Small property so never crowded and everything was easily accessible|- Easy street parking|- Walking distance (10 mins) to Point Pleasant Beach/Jenkinson's Boardwalk and 25 mins to "downtown"|- Were able to use the beach near sister property Driftwood Motel (10 min drive away)|- Room was clean and stocked with microwave, small fridge, and hairdryer (just lacking coffee maker and bedside clock)||THE BAD: |- Though front desk guy was friendly, he did not provide a ton of info (we were later told that he was new)...although some hotel-specific info was posted on the back of our door |- No housekeeping/cleaning of our rooms during the stay (only before and after)|- Parking lot was crowded with tight spots|- Bird poop on many of the pool chairs||THE UGLY:|- Wi-fi BARELY worked our entire stay...I used up almost all of my limited data plan while there|- Pool was not heated! Maybe "heated" is based on perception|- Pool was "closed for cleaning" without warning our last day (though there was no one there)|- Shower went hot and cold every time we used it (we did let front desk guy know)||Overall a decent stay with a few...
Read moreI’m so disappointed with this business. I booked through booking.com and I did not add my credit card number correctly and within 15 minutes of my booking I received a phone call asking for me to update my credit card information. I went ahead and did so immediately and my reservation was complete. Within a week of booking I sadly had to cancel my trip. I was well in the free cancellation window but after two weeks my deposit wasn’t refunded. I called the motel office and spoke with an individual that told me the manager would call me back but no one ever returned my call. I gave it a few days and tried again but no answer. I waited a few more days and tried again but still no answer. I left several messages with my contact information no response or refund. I even reached out through the messaging service in booking.com but no response there either. I finally had to put in for a credit dispute with my credit card company. I’ve received a conditional credit but they haven’t even respond to my credit card company either. If this is any indication of how they run their business or treat their customers during the busy summer season then I’m grateful our stay didn’t work out. I just hope I get my money back as I wouldn’t want to support a business that treats their...
