September of 2019, and I found the exact car I wanted. Unfortunately, it was located in the possession of the Pomona location's Empire Motors. Here I will objectively walk you through what they did to me, and how rotten they really are.
Upon initial contact I spoke with a Male associate by the name of "Jose," who continuously needed to be out of the office throughout my sales process until the very end to sign final paperwork. This is important to note, because the operation these business folk have in place requires structured responsibilities for each team member to shift blame, use misdirection, and bluff us.
Then another Male associate introduces me to the car and conveniently lacks the ability to fully communicate in English. Not a big deal on it's own, but communiaction is important when asking questions regarding a major purchase. This gentleman, "Martine," helped broker a deal to ask for $7,900 instead of sticker price $8,500. And when approved I had an 18% APR. Wow, right? I was so happy. All of this with 500 down.
Then, all of the sudden, a larger down payment was needed. $2500 now. That's two-thousand dollars more! So I had to take a few days to come up with it, for whatever reason they could come up with and I accepted. Coming back with their demanded $2500, they ran the nbets again and drafted paperwork. The contract had $8,500 vehicle price, 24% APR, and $2,500 cash payment! What!? They lied about why, tap danced and sat quiet until I realized that in order to get this vehicle I had no choice but to play the game these snakes know so well.
After signing, the vehicle check engine light came on the next day, and it is around a $935 fix at a qualified Nissan dealership. The vehicle was given to me dirty and with no gas. And can't operate without the fix to the system, so it sits outside my front yard...broken...because the dealership of Empire Motors at the Pomona location is full of smiling, laughing snakes with no concern for our well being or the car...
Read moreMy experience with Empire motors has been terrible. Anyway, I came across one of the cars they are selling on CarGuru and it happened to fit my budget. I went in to their dealership, and they were very nice and accommodating. No problems there. They let me test drive the car, and it was all good. I decided to buy the car, and they listed me the price. I paid for the deposit and had the car delivered to my place. They even said I get a 30 day warranty if I see something thats damaged on the car. Also, they even connected me to an insurance broker who would help me get a cheap but quality car insurance too.
However, I give them one star because of the following: unreliable. They sold me a car and failed to disclose that the radio is damaged. Told me they would cover the installation and parts. Had me drive an hour to get to their site, only for them to tell me they don’t have the parts. Wanted to charge me half of the price of the radio parts despite stating that they would cover everything. When I got the car, it was dirty. Windshield wipers needed to be replaced, and gas tank wasn’t filled up even though they said they would fill it up when delivered. They charged me 66 dollars more than the initial price we agreed on.
I definitely think it was a mistake getting involved with this specific dealer though. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I hope this company goes out...
Read moreI bought a 2015 Chevy Spark from this dealership and thanks to Yajahira- the buying process was rather painless because we worked out the money/payments prior to me going to test drive. Given that there's lemon laws and buyer's remorse laws that dealerships have to cooperate with helped. This could not have happened back in the 21st century but my new car runs great and while I've read some not so great reviews from this place- in my book- if you help your own cause- the management here will help yours as well...
