When you see this place from the outside it looks small and quaint. Which it is, but when you walk in they have done quite a bit with very little. Their service is fantastic, and their food is really well prepared and has great presentation.
Atmosphere: When you walk in, there is not a lot of room but they have done a lot with quite a little bit. Everything is very clean, and shiny. They have a lot of fresh ingredients in a prep window in front of where they make food. They have a two TVs in the restaurant. The waitress/cook were both very attentive and everyone had a smile on their face for most of our time there. Everyone seems to be enjoying being there. Their bathroom has a weird lighting, which is the only problem I have with my entire experience.
Food Quality: Everything was fresh, and everything was delicious. We had the Meixcan Roll and the Red Face Roll. Both had just enough spice to make them really exciting and the taste combination was amazing. The presentation was probably in my top 5 Sushi presentations I have seen.
Price/Value: Pretty typical $9-$15 per specialty roll with cheaper Cali rolls running around $6. You don't really need more than one specialty roll as my wife and I shared the above rolls and actually left feeling about as stuffed as sushi can make you feel. In my opinion that makes it a great deal as usually I'll need to buy an extra roll for each of us to share.
Service: We had awesome service. The waitress greeted us immediately, and treated us with a complimentary salad prior to our meal. She filled our drinks quickly and explained everything on the menu really well.
Conclusion: In our trip to Pompano Beach, I feel like this was our favorite Restaurant we visited. Unfortunately, it was also the last so we could not return. I'll definitely be back when I visit again. They...
Read moreFelt the very strong need to write a review of this place after seeing all the Karen’s and their husbands write negative reviews. I’ve been coming here since they opened which was YEARS ago, and not once have I had a single problem. This place treats you like you’re their family. The service? IMPECCABLE. The food? DELICIOUS. The atmosphere? FANTASTIC. I don’t think you could use a single negative word in the English vocabulary or any other language to describe this place as ‘bad’. Because it just isn’t! It’s the kind of sushi place that every town and city in America needs. You won’t find a place like it and you won’t find a place with the kind of people that work in it anywhere in the world. I love it here and the day it closes ( which is probably NEVER cause of how frickin good it is ) I will pass over to the other side. If you’re a tourist in Pompano Beach or just your average local in this town and you’re lookin for some quality sushi or Japanese food, you’ve come to the right frickin place. I wish i could curse in this review but i don’t want it to get deleted but this place is so f’in good i think it would win first place in a county fair. So to all you plain people who have noting good to say about this place, it’s not your fault, y’all clearly just weren’t raised right and don’t know what proper good food is. I’ll pray y’all learn one day. Anywho, thank you 9face for always takin care of me and providing me with the best food and service. Your absolute biggest...
Read moreDelicious sushi spot right off of Pompano Beach and surrounded by other eateries and kitschy gift shops. A staff member of the company we rented seats and an umbrella from on the beach recommended this place to us, regarding it as the best locally-owned sushi place in town. We were very satisfied with the food and service, though the price was pretty steep (but not surprising for the tourist-filled town).
We sat on the patio during sunset. I started off with a ginger salad and then had a bonsai roll (recommended to me by our server) and a yellowtail roll. Both were tasty. I found the yellowtail roll in the basic rolls section. The bonsai roll was more than $15 and the yellowtail was maybe $7. However, I didn't expect such a difference in quantity of food in the rolls. The yellowtail was tiny! My husband started off with miso soup and then ordered the spicy tuna, rainbow, and volcano rolls.
We left stuffed to our brim and took a combination of pieces, resulting in about a roll's worth, back to our hotel,...
